3 Valentines Day Outfits

As Valentines Day is now only a week away, I thought I would give you a few ideas for outfits you can wear for the day. Whether you’re going out for drinks, and want something slightly more casual yet still dressy, going out for a really fancy meal or just going for a relaxing day date, I’ve got an outfit idea to suit every occasion.

If you’re off to a lovely posh meal this Valentines day, then a statement dress would be the perfect choice. I always think they ooze femininity, and are so easy to create an outfit around. You can so easily make the dress the statement and then keep it neutral with the accessories, like I’ve done with this gorgeous lazer cut Karen Millen dress. This is one of my favourite items in my wardrobe, because I just love the pop of red. I always think red looks beautiful on women, and I love pairing it with bouncy curls and top it all off with a red lip. I’ve then kept the jewellery and accessories neutral, with a nude bow clutch bag from Coast, and kept the rose gold theme running through into my circular Pandora necklace. Which has small cut out hearts around the edge, which I thought would be perfect for valentines.

However, if you’re looking for a more relaxed day date outfit, then a classic cami and a leather skirt would be the perfect choice. I love matching a really delicate and lacy piece, with a more masculine leather piece, and the two just compliment each other so nicely. But, as it is valentines day, I thought the added pink of the skirt still keeps it girly and perfect for a day date. Whether it’s a picnic, a walk in the park or a day out, this would really work, and then you can take it into the evening with the addition of this pink blazer from L K Bennett and a statement necklace.

What date are you planning this Valentines Day?

Spring Style Inspiration & 3 Wearable Trends

Spring is finally starting to appear, as the evenings get lighter and the weather is getting so much warmer. So, we also have to alter what items we pull out of wardrobe everyday, to suit this new season. This year it’s all about the white that’s contrasted with lot’s of bright tones, especially pink and canary yellow, they’re two massive colours this season. There’s also the classic denim thrown in, with embroidery, lace and also a good love for suede as well. Spring 2017 really is a large mix of different trends, styles and  taste’s to form one huge, inclusive fashion season. So, here’s a bit of style inspiration to get your creative styling juices flowing…

Trends are also a massive part of the fashion world, and something that even though we might be completely unaware of, really do rule the entire design world. However, we can’t all afford the latest Gucci belt or the newest Burberry trench, but we can look at the trends for inspiration and make them wearable in everyday style.

Suede

The suede trend is still hanging around from when we had the 70’s colour palette revival back in 2015, however its had a bit more of a classic edge put onto it. Now it’s all about using suede in a luxurious way and to add a different element to an outfit. Wearing it through a biker jacket is bang on trend right now, and mix that with the brights trend and you have one high fashion item for 2017. However, I much prefer to keep it more tonal and go for the creams, brown and beige’s, that can be worn with anything and are a true wardrobe staple in summer, when you need a light jacket you can just throw on with your outfit.

The Staple Accessory

We can’t all afford, or even justify in spending hundreds of pounds on the latest white the to hit the catwalk or the newest trench style, however we do all love to invest in a good staple accessory. They’re a perfect way to add a luxury stamp to your outfit and instantly bring your whole look to life. I’m thinking a killer pair of statement red heels, a structured bag or even something designer, if you want to invest in a higher quality piece.

Layering

This has to be one of the easiest trends to achieve and one that honestly looks the most effective. When you want to create a really stylish look, the key is to think about different texture’s, tonal colours and different styles. So, think about layering a polo neck under your biker jacket, or add a camisole under your open white shirt. Not only does it look like you’ve put more effort into putting your look together, it also looks so much ore unique and stylish.

What trends are you loving this spring season?

When it comes to British fashion there’s no better event to emerge yourself in everything to do with clothes and fashion, than London Fashion Week. It’s the ultimate event where the well known fashionista’s, all across the world, come together to see what the next season of clothes has to offer. There’s generally two main season’s a year, in which a fashion week happens, in the capitals of the most influential countries such as Paris, Milan and New York. However, the current fashion week is going on in our capital city of London and is looking towards autumn/winter 2016. There’s lot’s of models, catwalks, front rows and bags of amazing street style to feast our eyes on. So, here’s 5 trends that have rocked the street style of LFW AW16…

Faux Fur

This has been such a massive trend over AW15 and 16 that it’s not surprising that it was a favourite, with the fashion forward people at London Fashion Week. It’s the perfect way to add texture, colour and also a really stylish warmth to any outfit. When it comes to making a statement, many women went for highly patterned and in your face fur, that means you never blend into the background and always get pictured.

Bomber Jackets

If you’ve read my post about bombers, you can go and read it HERE, then you will know that I’m really loving them at the moment. They’re just so versatile and can really be styled with any form or style of outfit. They look great dressed down with trainers and jeans for that sport luxe trend, but also really amazing dressed up with a skirt or a dress. They really are a massive investment piece and something that was super popular at LFW.

Stripes

You can never get enough of a good old stripe. They literally go with anything and everything; look super chic and elegant, and really channel that effortless Parisian style that we all dream of. So when stripes hit LFW street style, it wasn’t at all surprising. They’re forever in style and there’s so many varieties that you always find one to suit your taste and shape; never getting bored of the endless combinations that are available.

Metallic’s

Want to create a unique, standout outfit that puts all the light towards you? If so then metallic’s are definitely the trend you need to channel. They’re usually associated with sweet and chocolate wrappers, or during the festive period, however they’re now a firm favourite at LFW. The best way to rock this trend is to go all out and find a chic, but statement metallic piece, to wear. A jumpsuit, cape or dress would look amazing.

Suede

When it comes to suede and the whole 70’s revival trend, I didn’t know whether it would really last and become a big part of many people’s wardrobe’s. However, I’ve been well and truly proven wrong as suede has been a massive trend, on the street of London, over the last few days. It’s been chosen in seasonal colours, such as purple, mustard and camel, and paired with denim, to create a statement yet put together look.
