Get Ready With Me | My 19th Birthday

A birthday is always an excuse for me to get dressed up and enjoy being a bit more glamourous than I am everyday; and my 19th birthday was no exception. After such an amazing 18th year, I knew I had to go into my 19th with a bit of a bang, no way as big as last years, but a good celebration was in order. So, to make sure the night kicked off in the right way, I made sure I had an outfit on that I loved and felt really good in, as well as pulling it all together with hair and makeup that had a kind of everyday glam vibe. I was so happy the outfit as a whole I thought I would share it in a blog post with you all….

The Outfit

When it comes to going out, I’m a massive fan of having that one key item that you can put on and feel instantly put togther and ready for the evening. Whether that’s a dress playsuit or a jumpsuit, a love a good one hit wonder I suppose; except I love to wear them over and over again and they’re my trusty go-to pieces. So, when it came to choosing an outfit for my birthday drinks in my local city, it was a no brainer that I wanted to pick one of these items from my wardrobe. So, this red, lace dress from AX Paris ended up being the dress of choice for the evening, purely becaause I feel really good when I wear it, it looks good and I could also pair it with a good old red lip.

To finish the look off, I wanted to make the dress the main focus point and so I stuck to a more neutral colour palette. I went for a beautiful pair of patent nude high heels, with a good platform to add a bit of height to the evening. These are far from the most comfortable heels I own, but they look amazing on, and so that balanced out the pain they cause. Then I added my trusty rose gold Pandora rings, and my Armani exchange watch and a black and white clutch to tie it all together. To be honest the bag wasn’t my first choice, but I couldn’t find the bag I really wanted to use so I had to make so with this one.

Hair & Makeup

For my hair and makeup I went for a more everyday glam look, as I wanted to still look natural with a bit more of a dressed up version. So I created a gorgeous brown smoky eye to add a bit of depth to my makeup look and a bit of intensity to the eye, using the Morphe 35T palette. This is actually one of the loves of my life and would really recommend buying it because it`s so versatile, and it also helps that it looks beautiful as well. To complement the eye look I went for bronzed, dewy skin and a good old matte red lip. I wasn’t the most popular with my boyfriend, but it tied the whole look together. When it came to my hair, I went for my trusty loose curls but added lots of extra volume, to the roots, to add bit of extra glam to the whole look. This just brought it all together and made me love my hair for the whole night.

The Night

I headed to a few local bars in my local city for drinks and a cocktail or two, with my boyfriend and 6 of my best friends. I had an amazing night chatting, drinking and catching up with them all, especially as three of them are at uni away from home and I don’t get to see them that much. To be honest it was quite a messy night, as I made the mistake of mixing too many drink combinations. However, I was the birthday girl and so I had a good excuse to get drunk.

10 Ways To Transition Your Wardrobe Into Autumn

Photo 06-09-2017, 09 20 20Photo 06-09-2017, 09 21 13Photo 06-09-2017, 09 21 04

1. Add different layers, from a shirt under a jumper or a denim jacket over a dress. The key to dressing ready for the unpredictable autumn months, is having those multiple layers that look super stylish and are also pretty practical as well.

2.Change up your colour palette. Say goodbye to the brights and the pastels, and say hello to the deep purple’s, navy, orange’s and camel’s. Although that blush pink is still in for autumn/winter 2017.

3.Add in another texture, whether that’s through a fur Gillet, a woven scarf or a chunky knitted jumper.

4.Pop on an autumnal nail varnish, I’m absolutely loving burgundy at the minute, or play around with an autumnal eye makeup look.

5.Add a boot to your look. It’s the most classic way to transition your wardrobe into autumn and is one of the best as they go with everything. Shorts and dresses for those warmer autumn days and jeans or tights for the colder days.

6.Go a few shades darker with your jeans. Think dark navy and black, a quick and easy way to transition from summer and into autumn.

7.Change up your accessories, such as saying goodbye to that bright across body bag and hello to that dark bowler bag for this autumn/winter.

8.Why not try a jumper and skirt combo, as the jumper is perfect for those colder autumn days but that skirt still leaves a bit of leg on show and channelling the summer vibes still.

9.It’s all about adding a coat, whether that’s your go to green parka, that boyfriend style coat or just a classic leather jacket.

10.Say hello to hair simplicity. Say goodbye to hair glitter and plaits, and say hello to those natural soft waves under a cute bobble hat.

Are you looking forward to autumn dressing?

My Updated Pandora Jewellery Collection & How I Style My Pieces

IMG_0093IMG_0094IMG_0095

Jewellery is something I’ve really grown to love over the last few years, as my style hs developed and I’ve been able to find more timeless jewellery pieces to pair with my more classic style; and Pandora has been one of my favourite place to get these from. It’s far from the cheapest place to find jewellery, however they offer a good level of quality, and style for the amount of money you’re paying for your pieces. They also regulary bring out new season collections to keep your love for their jewellery going and create beautiful items that you can really customise and make completely personal to you.

So, as I’ve now got quite a substantial collection of their pieces, I thought I would share my collection with you, and my favourite ways to style them up with my wardrobe…

Woven Leather Bracelet | £45

This bracelet out of my whole Pandora collection, is the one I wear the least simply because nowadays I’m just really into more classic jewellery pieces, that I can pair with any outfit and it won’t clash. As this pink woven leather bracelet is a little bit more unique and wouldn’t tie in with every outfit that I wear, however it is a really good casual Pandora bracelet as it’s not super heavy, like all the others can be. It has a round, silver floral clip on which they no longer make, but I love how it ties in with the silver clasp and having the single bead just keeps it looking nice and simple.

How I Style? –  So, my favourite way to style this bracelet up is just with a really casual, everyday look. Maybe a pair of jeans, a graphic or slogan tee, and a pair of converse. Then the bracelet just ties in really well and adds a little bit of casual glamour to your outfit.

Pandora Jewellery 2Silver Cream Flower Enamel Ring & Silver Floral Band

These were the first two rings I ever had from Pandora, and were actually both bought for me as presents. Before I had these, I never really used to like wearing rings because I had always had cheap one’s that felt uncomfortable to wear or were more statement pieces. However, once I added these two to my collection my love for rings began and I’ve loved them ever since.

How I Style? – I love to style these two rings separately, as the thicker floral band ring can’t be stacked and looks much better on it’s own as a single piece. So, I always tend to wear them together and put the thicker banded one on my right middle finger and then the thinner floral enamel one on my left middle finger. Then, I will usually pair my silver heart bangle with them, as its not too over the top and just ties all the silver pieces together nicely.

Sterling Silver Bangle | £55

This bangle has to be my favourite out of all the bracelet’s in my collection, and that’s because it’s so simple and classic, and is also really wearable with so many outfits. I usually hate wearing bangle’s because they always seem to dig in around the bony parts of your wrists and move around a lot; however this one is just a little bit bigger than my wrist and because it has the clasp it makes it so easy to put on and take off. I also love the Pavé Open My Heart Clip that’s on it, because it adds a bit of glamour and sparkle to the piece, but it still looks chic and super feminine.

How I Style? – I would style this up with a more dressy outfit, such as when I go on a night out or for drinks with the girls, or when I go to work and want to add a bit of classic sparkle to my outfit. I think it also looks beautiful paired with my two floral silver rings, and a pair of silver crystal earrings to finish the look off.

FullSizeRenderDazzling Daisy Ring | £55 & Daisy Band Ring | £75 & Classic Band Ring | £100

My three rose gold rings are my favourite items out of my whole collection, because I absolutely love rose gold and think it looks so pretty and feminine; and these rings are no exception.

Again all these rings have been presents and have little stories behind them that make them even more special, such as the thin band daisy ring was bought with money I got from my family for my AS Results. So, I know that whenever I wear it, it reminds me of my achievements and those results. Similarly, the classic band ring, which is the newest addition to my collection and something I can’t stop wearing was bought my mum as a present for my A-Level results, so it will always remind me of the day I got them and how happy I was. As the daisy band ring was an 18th birthday present from my Aunty and Uncle, and something I will always treasure and remember from a special birthday.

How I Style? – My favourite ways to style these rings is to stack the classic band ring with the daisy thin band flower ring on the top, and then also wear the thick daisy band ring on my right middle finger. I don’t always wear all of them, but I usually alternate and wear two at a time, one on either hand. Then I usually pair it with a dainty gold initial bracelet I have as well, to finish the look off.

Sterling Silver Charm Bracelet | £55

This is the first ever Pandora jewellery piece I had and will still always be the most classic from the brand, as it’s where they started. Their charm bracelets are still so iconic and I love how you can personalise them and make each individual one to suit you, tell a story and have memories behind each bead. All of mine have been presents, that have bought for me for various different occasions, so they all have a lot of meaning for me. For example, the bracelet, two heart clips, the bow and the two thin crystal beads were all a present from my mum for my 16th birthday, and then I had various beads for my 18th birthday and other special events in between. The only thing I don’t like about these bracelets is that they can get really heavy with all the beads on and then be hard to wear all day.

How I Style? – Generally as this bracelet is so heavy, I usually only wear it for special occasions, such as going out for drinks or on a night out. I never wear this everyday as it’s too bulky and I also don’t want to risk loosing any of the beads, which I actually have done before.

What are some of your favourite pieces from Pandora?

3 New Festival Buys

IMG_3106[1]IMG_3110[1]

Festivals are such popular summer events to go and are packed full of wild, wacky and colourful outfits. There’s never a dull moment when you’re rocking the double denim look, mixing florals and stripes or owning that huge floral crown. However, you do also have to think practically when going to a festival, as in reality they are amazing fun but can be super rainy, windy and cold. So, as I’m going to V Festival this year with a group of my friends, I thought I would share some of the practical, yet stylish, buys I’ve picked up so far.

Green Raincoat | Topshop | £25

Not only is this the most practical piece from this mini haul, it’s probably the most sensible clothing item I’ve bought for a long time, usually I’m all about style over practicality. But, I knew this would be a piece I would really need for the festival as it would keep me warm on colder nights, would look good paired with any festival outfit and was also a bargain in the sale at £25. I love how the striped lining adds a bit of fun to the piece and even though it is quite practical, I know it will still look cute and stylish during the weekend.

The Roma Rucksack| MAHI Leather | £94.50

This little beauty was a gorgeous gift from my lovelies over at MAHI leather and will be perfect to house all my festival essentials for the day. I love how it has two zipped pockets at the front, which you can access really easily and how it also has a really spacious main section to the bag as well. It will be great for in the evenings when I want to  take out a jacket and also my phone, money and maybe a few drinks or something to eat. They’ve also made it even better by personalising it with my first three initials, RLK; which I just love and makes it so special. All their gorgeous bags are 100% leather and that means that it will wear really well, last a long time and be okay in the unpredictable weather at the festival.

White Embroided Shirt | Zaful | $26.49

This is my favourite piece from this mini haul, because not only do I love a good shirt but I’m also obsessed with embroidery; and this piece ticks both of these boxes. What I like is how well the beauties at Zaful described this item, which meant that I was super impressed when I got this shirt through the post and surprised at the online to real life pay off. It looked exactly the same and even the embroidery looks just as beautiful and intricate as it did on screen. They also come packaged up so beautifully as well and all it needed was a good iron and it was ready to go.

I really cant wait to style up this shirt with a good old pair of denim shorts, maybe even contrast it with a black ripped pair, to add a different feel. It’s such a casual style and cut that it always looks effortlessly chic, and is also super soft against your skin. The embroidery doesn’t irritate you at all and you can even roll up the sleeves to change up the style of it too. I’ve even got my eye on some of the beautiful floral bodycon dresses on their website, which would also be a great festival day outfit.

The only criticism I would make about it would just be the sizing descriptions, from their small, medium, large into British clothing sizes. I got guided an XL would be a UK size 12, however this is a bit big for me and I could of easily got a large if it wasn’t for the fact that the shirt looks great over-sized.

What do you have planned this summer?

OOTD | Celebratory Drinks

IMG_3098[1]IMG_3100[1]IMG_3101[1]

Eveningwear has to my ultimate favourite type of clothing to wear and style into an outfit. I love that you can play with different texture’s, colours, go sheer and always add some form of sparkle. It’s just so much more playful and I always feel so much more special when I’ve made a real effort with my outfit in the evening. So, as I went out for a few celebratory drinks with some of the lovelies at work, over the weekend, I thought I would share my outfit of the night. It’s one of my favourite’s and the perfect put together, but also still relaxed look.

So, first let’s talk about a key part of this look, and it really starts with the underwear. It’s essential with these gorgeous white cropped trousers, from New Look, that you’re extra careful about the underwear you wear. They can be pretty see-through and so a good pair of nude pants is essential, or even a nude thong. Also, as this high necked, purple top which is also from New Look, is super sheer, you have two options. For the day time, I always just pop a black cami underneath and this protects all your dignity and also looks presentable for the day time. However, in the evening I love to pair it with a black Bralette from Victoria Secret underneath. It just adds a bit of playfulness to the outfit and makes it more evening appropriate.

The two key items of the outfit themselves, the top and the trousers, are both favourites from my wardrobe. I not only love the colour of this top and how you can really get away with wearing it all year round, it also looks great on my skin tone and really compliments gold eye makeup and rose gold jewellery. It also has a really lovely fit, and even though it’s got a high neck, if you wear it sheer, then it’s still very feminine and a bit sexy as well. As the trousers really are a staple in my wardrobe, and can be worn both day and night. They look good with so many different items and I love how they really pull in my waist and emphasise my long legs, especially if I wear them with heels.

To pull the look together, I went for my new grey suede, cropped biker jacket, which is also a purchase from good old New Look. I love how this not only kept me warm during the evening, but it also adds a different texture and colour to the outfit. The cut of the jacket also looks great with these trousers, as it just finishes when the trousers are pulling in at my waist, so it really just compliments the outfit and looks super classy. Also, I just paired my favourite pair of nude heels with the outfit, as not only are they the most comfortable pair of heels I own, they also look amazing on and really compliment so many outfits. They also make sure I look elegant but not too tall, as I’m already 5ft 11 in flats. The silver clutch just added a bit of sparkle to the outfit and also created a home for the bare essentials I needed for the night; my money, phone, ID, Cards and of course my eye-lash glue.

What’s your favourite type of clothing to style?
