Style Bible #7- The Key To True Glamour

Hello Lovelies

I’m back with another edition of style bible! Style bible is always a popular post and after looking through my previous posts for my post planning, i saw this post and knew I had to do another one. This post is inpired by a book I have called ” How be to adored” by Caroline Cox. I love this book and base my post around one of the pages in the book, use it, and my own ideas to build a for you all to enjoy .

Also I would like to say how pleased I am about my third “an outfit for £50” post. I mentioned the fact of how the second one of that series went down hill and how i wanted to get it back on track, so all I can say is, that it is  well and truly back on track, thanks to every single one of you!!

The term glamour means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. To some glamour is to be comepletly made up and to be wearing an amazing outfit, to some it’s about making an effort and wanting to look and feel great, but what everyone needs to know before any of that, is what true glamour is. True glamour is the basis to every other definition/view of glamour and is needed before anything else. But true glamour is what every girl needs to know about and be able to act on.

Glamour is term very close to my heart. I see my self as a very glamourous person, I love to dress up, wear heels, bring out my favourite dress and feel great. But to me glamour is not just a materialistic thing, it’s something can not be bought, it’s something from inside, you either have it or you do’t. nBut I also see that you can develop it over time if you truly believe in your self and that you can do anything you desire.

So what I want everyone to know is that although glamour can mean so many differnet things, really it’s just about accepting your self and being truly great!

  • Be yourself.

  • Glamour is not all low-cut gowns and the slinky look. Blue jeans can still make you look attractive.

  • Before you can convince others that you’re attractive, you’ve got to to believe it yourself.

  • Enjoy the fact you’re a woman and men will enjoy it too.

  • Trust your instincts-don’t ask other woman’s advice on how to dress!

  • Skim fashion magazines until you find someone who’s has you rtype of style and base your look around there’s.

I hope that you all take these tips on board and become an ultimate glamourous woman.

Love you all

An Outfit For £50 #3

Red Alert

Hello Lovelies

Firstly I would just like to say WOW to the response for my halloween posts. I did try to really push the boat out and do something different, so I’m glad that you all loved it. Thankyou for the support and I love you all.

I was just scrolling down my homepage and looking for a idea for a post for today and I saw this. This post was quite popular the first time I did it and then went a bit down hill the second time, I think that was mainly because I was a bit lazy with the look and went really casual. I thought that you  would like something different, but I do know that you all love it when I go full on fashion!! So after that little blip, I’m back and with a corker of an outfit for you all, but I have over spent a little.

This season red is well and truly back! Whether it’s a full on red dress or just a hint of red lipstick, it all counts towards the red alert trend and adds the ultimate pop of colour to an outfit. Red is known for sultery, sexy vibes and with everyone going mad for a bit of red, every day sexiness is back! You all need to watch out because you may meet someone with a hint of red, who may just surprise you!

With red being a real statement this season and plaid being a big trend, mixing them together has to be a success! So for this outfit on a budget I have incorparated this mix and added a bit of sutle sexiness to today’s post.

1.White Fashion Addict Print Oversized T-Shirt £15.00- River Island

2.Sequin Dogtooth Clutch £25.00- Accessorize

3.Red Tartan Scuba Midi Skirt £17.99- New Look

Now if you have done your maths, you will see that I stretched the purse a bit, but I personally think it’s worth it! Personally I think this outfit looks a lot more than it actually is. All the elements look liek they were a lot more money than they actually were, and they all look really chic and on trend.

Firstly, this clutch from Accessorize is just so beautiful and is worth the money and more. When I went to London yesterday, I saw this sitting in the Accessorize window and absolutely fell in love with it. So when I writing this post, I just knew that I had to get this bag to go with this outfit. I did’nt just choose it because I love it, but also because it brings the whole outfit togther. I love this bag!!

Secondly, this tee from River Island is so chic and the perfect contrast to this outfit. With the chic black and white print and contrasted with the bright red plaid skirt, it looks amazing. I also love the slogan and the fact that it talks about fashion and this outfit really agree’s with the statement, because a fashion addict would definetly be seen wearing this! If your a fashion addict, you need this top, and at only £15, it’s a great price!!

Thirdly, this midi skirt is gorgeous. It looks so much more than it actually is and if you want to get in with the plaid trend but not pay to much for the privalage then this is the ticket. This skirt is just a great price and something that you will just find your self addict to this winter. I love it!!!

So after showing you what you can get for your money and explaining it all, I now need to let you know how you can be a savy shopper and get more for your money. Therefore here’s another 4 tips to help you along your savy shopper journey:

  • Check on the shop you want to buy at’s website!

Recently a few of the high- shops have been doing were there are offers on certain things for a limited time, such as: £10 off all coats or £20 off all jumpers. *these are not real offers, I am just giving an example.

  • Go and shop in mid-season sales.

River Island and Forever 21 are just a few places having these right now. You can get amazing on trend fashion but at a discount!!

  • Don’t buy an item unless it goes with three things in your exisiting wardrobe.

  • Use accessories to change up an outfit and create multiple looks.

I hope you find these tips helpful and you can become a better savy shopper. Also that you feel inspired by the look for £50 and know more what you can get for your money.

Love you all

D.I.Y Halloween Lanterns

Hello Lovelies

Welcome to the second of my halloween posts!

I know that, when I do themed posts that they can get boring! So I thought that this time I would try and keep them really close together and do something really interesting. Also I would just like to thank you all on the support for my last post. It was much more popular than I expected and after my daily ratings being down for the last few days, it was a real boost. I love you all and I hope you like this post as much as the last one.

When I first had the idea of doing a halloween post/s, I just knew that I had to do something crafty! I didn’t have a clue what and so I spent about 45 minutes just walking around my house looking for inspiration after failing to get any from Pinterest.( That made me sad because usually I find loads of inspiration on pinterest, but on this occassion it kind of let me down.) Anyway, so after walking around the house like an idiot for ages, getting hissed at by a horrible cat that likes to sit on my shed and going outside in my py’s, I finally got inspiration from two empty fanta bottles sitting in my kitchen. I know it sounds weird, but I am only telling you the truth.

So after finding inspiraton from two empty drink bottles, I decided that I was going to make little lanterns with the bottom of them. I know for some people right now, they are probably thinking that, how the hell can I see how to make a lantern from a bottle. The truth is, that I am just a real creative person and I can get an image from my head into what I create physically really well. I am always being creative and love making something out of nothing, that you can then use and treasure. At the end of the day you treasure and enjoy the things you have made the most, because you appreciate the making of it and always look at it and think ” I made that”!

When I started out, I really had absoutely no clue how I was going to get to what I wanted. So I really just improvised and saw little things around the hosue that I thought would work great and then just worked around them. STOP, Wait!!

So instead of carrying on and telling you everything that I did to get to the result I did, I will just get on with it and tell you how to make one for your self.

What You Need

  • An empty drinks bottle e.g Fanta

  • Coloured tissue paper

  • Some kind of string/ribbon/wire

  • Black felt or paper

  • Scissors

  • Pencil

  • Hole Puncher

  • Super Glue

  • Ruler

  • Tea light or Electric candles

1.Get your bottle and cut in the desired place, just below half way. As it’s quite hard to just cut the bottle, it may help you to just squash the bottle at the top and cut it like that!!

2. Take a piece of tissue paper, indeally 23cm high by 33cm long. I used a Craftworks indivual sheet pack from The works. Then cut it in half.

3. Wrap the tissue around the bottle piece and tuck the excess over the top to create a rough guide line for later.

 4. Take the tissue paper off the bottle and lie the tissue paer flat on the table. Cut pieces of about 2 cm thick and using super glue spread a line down th bottle.

5. Now stick the tissue paper on and using the rough guide line, bend the excess over the top of the bottle and stick in down on the inside with a bit of glue.

6. After the first piece has been put on, spread glue along on side of the tissue paper and attach the next piece using the same process as before. Now repeat this until all the bottle is covered.

7. Look at inside the bottle and check all the ends are stuck down.

8. Now decide where you want the handle to be and mark either side with a pencil. Then hole punch where the marks roughly are.

9. Now cut a piece of string, ribbon or wire for the handle. For a short one it should be ideally 20cm and a longer one would be around 40cm.

10. Put the string through the holes and put glue on about 2cm on either end and stick it down on the inside. Don’t worry if the holes don’t go right, still do the same thing and it should be fine.

11. Then cut out a face to put on your lantern, this can be from black felt or black paper and stick it on with super glue.

12. Finally put a candle in it. I have used electric candles but you could use tea lights but I think they may not like the tissue paper and it could cause a fire, so I would recommend getting some electric candles, you can get them from loads of places for usually about £2-£3.

I hope you love these little lanterns as much as I do. They look lovely when it’s dark and they are so easy and cheap!!

Halloween Gift Guide

Trick or Treat

Hello Lovelies

Welcome to my Halloween post!

First of all, I would just like to say thankyou for all the support for the new post idea, it has been really popular and has been sitting high on my “Top post and pages” column in my side bar, since I wrote it two days ago. When I write a post I never know how popular it is going to be, it’s just guess work really, so when I wrote that life lesson post I honestly thought that it would not be that popular, because personal posts don’t really do that well on here normally, but you all proved me wrong and I am so glad because I really enjoyed writing it and putting it together. Also by you all loving it I am able to write more of them, in fact, I have already got one up my sleeve for in a few weeks time.

After seeing many Youtube videos and looking at lot’s of blog posts, all inspired by something halloween, I thought I needed to jump on the band wagon and write one my self. But the one trouble that I had was, that I had absolutely no idea what to do!!! So I took my self to the good old internet for some inspiration. After reading a post on IFB (Independent fashion Bloggers) I saw this idea and it just stood out to me. It just seemed the right type of post to do because gift guide’s are always popular on here and also i love shopping around for little gifts for people, so it fit perfectly, not just for me but for all you too.

At halloween everyone wants to have some ghostly fun! Whether that’s going on a ghost walk, having a halloween party or going to some kind of fright fest. Halloween is a time of heart stopping fright but unbelieveable fun, I guess that’s why we all love it soo much. But over the year’s especially in the U.K halloween celebrations have changed, most of us have said goodbye to trick and treating for something bigger and better like special fright nights or ghostly walks. But one thing that we still all want is sweets, chocolate and anything sweet.

Images sourced from We Heart It.

So keeping in mind the new british ways of celebrating halloween, I have come up with a gift’ guide to complement that. All the gift’s  range from £1- £10, so perfect for any halloween celebration and especially good for a small token at a halloween party for people to take home. They are a range of different things to compliment everyone’s needs and desires for a halloween goodie.

1. Natalie Chocolates Mixed Bag of Praline Pumpkin Chocolates £5.00- John Lewis

2. Screme Egg Mini’s Bag £1.95- cadburygiftdirect.co.uk

3. Pumpkin Bubble Bar £2.75 each – LUSH Cosmetics

4. Tombstone Cookie and Pen £7.95 – Harrods

5. Witches Brew £6.75 – Yankee Candle

6.Cupcake and Pick Kit £6.00 – John Lewis

7. Pelican Bay Make Your Own Caramel Apple Set £6.50 – John Lewis

8. Pumpkin Treat Bag, Orange £4.50 – John Lewis

I hope you like this post and feel inspired to buy some little halloween goodies.

This Season’s Colours

Which colour will you be wearing this season?

Hello Lovelies

This season I feel like there’s so many colours and styles around that I am not really sure what I want to go for. Winter is one of my favourite times of the year because  I just love winter fashion, but I always find it hard to find my own indivual winter style. I am bad winter fashion wise and I am often a victim of leggings and uggs. But this year I want to really step out of that box and find a style for this winter which I will truly love and will be really excited to wear every time I go to get dressed.

At this time of the year I always end up with my winter wardrobe being a little lacking. I am often needing something new to add to my wardrobe and that is normally trousers and jackets. I dont know why but I never seem to be able to find a nice pair of trousers I realy like and often never find a few jackets that I like too. But hopefully this year I will be able to truly find these things my wardrobe is dying for. I am going to London on a trip next week and I just love the clothes shops there, they just seem to be so much better and have made so much more effort there compared to here in central england. They often have better window displays, range of stock and the shop is set out better, I don’t why anything or things are like this in London but they are, so if you can’t find it her ethen to london I go!!

When I have just been mainly browsing in the shops I have been looking in them and they all seem to have their own style for this winter going on. I suppose that is what inspired me to write this post and to inform you what this season’s colours really are, the base of your winter fashion knowledge and then you can build your style around that really.

This year the colours are going all pink, purple, red and dark blue on us. They seem to go from the lighest shaed of our true girly colour to the darkest of the true manly colour. So can we really pull that extremity off??
