London Fashion Week is something me and my mum have always wanted to go to. We’ve always wanted to sit as the side of a catwalk and watch a real show, and see the models walking down the runway showing the latest trends for the upcoming season. So, when my mum bought me tickets to go to London Fashion Week Festival for Christmas I was beyond excited. I couldn’t wait to go and be a part of something I’ve always wanted to experience.

From the moment I set foot on the strand, to the moment I was sitting second row at the side of the runway, I loved every moment. As you all know, fashion is something I love and a career I can’t wait to be a part of, and so it was right up my street. I loved sitting next to the runway and watching each new trend showcase their latest pieces, and browsing round the stalls for some new items to add to my wardrobe. It was so inspiring and a peak into what my career in fashion buying will bring.

I honestly couldn’t recommend the event enough to anyone who loves fashion and style. The experience is just amazing and the tickets are also really affordable considering the event. I still can’t believe I got to go and I’m already planning to go to the one in September.

Spring Wishlist | White High Low Dress, Designer Bags and Embroidery

Untitled design (3)

Lulu Guiness Rucksack | £375, Blue Vanilla Jacket | £60, Zaful Embroided Tunic | $27.99, Zaful Cut Out Pointed Stiletto’s | $35.99, Ted Baker Red Bag | £160 , Topshop Embroided Jeans | £59

As it’s starting to get warmer in the UK, I’m really enjoying dressing for the spring season and purchasing some new items to add to my wardrobe. So, I’m working with the beauties at Zaful to show you some of the pieces I’m currently lusting after; such as this embroided white high low dress or dress formal dresses, which would be perfect for an upcoming summer party or a prom.

This season I just can’t get enough of embroidery. It’s just so feminine and also adds a nice amount of detail to a usually plain pair of jeans or a jacket. I particularly love the traditional red and green floral embroidery, on these Topshop Jamie Jeans because it adds something extra to the denim and makes them more of a special and seasonal appropriate pair to wear. The embroidery is also not too in your face, and doesn’t take away from how well-fitting the jeans are. So many pairs similar to this, are always boyfriend or mom style, and even though they are a nice addition to your wardrobe, I honestly don’t think you can beat a really good pair of skinny jeans.

If you’ve been a reader for a long time, then you will know that I have a real love and border line addiction for handbags. I especially love the British brand Lulu Guiness because of just how feminine all of her iconic bags are and particularly the traditional lips design. However, recently this gorgeous black leather backpack with a gold lips clasp, has caught my eye and I can’t stop thinking about it since. I just think that backpacks are so useful for summer and this one would just add a bit more style and glamour to the whole idea. But, it’s super expensive and definitely a piece that I will have to save up for or buy when it’s on sale.

Shoes are also quickly becoming another love of mine, and I’m really into more pointy stilettos styles at the minute. I bought a nude pair back in March, for one of my best friends wedding and I’ve just fallen in love with how elegant they make you look. They really elongate your legs and add a bit of a stronger contrast to an otherwise very feminine outfit. So, this gorgeous cut out tan pair from Zaful, caught my eye straight away. I love how well these will work with this seasons embroidery and lace, but also work perfectly with for both a casual day look or a dressy evening vibe. They would be so versatile and be a pair in my collection that I would wear over and over again. I definitely need to pick these beauties up.

What items are you lusting over this season?

Weekly Love – Cross Jewellery

What am I loving……

If you are a regular reader you will know that this is a new series of posts. If you are not a regular reader then first of all hello and welcome to rachelspick. Also you will not know that this is a new series of posts, so I just thought I would let you know!

After looking back on some of my older posts I saw a post I had made last August that said:

“I want to post more about my own clothes and not just things from the internet, and I want it to be a lot more personal, so I have decided to start blogging about my favourite items in my wardrobe and my own personal things which is going to be called “Fashion In site” which is all to do with my personal style and what i own.

I realise that this promise to all of you had not been for filled and thought that it was about time to do it! I have always felt a bit self confident about this but I don’t know why because after writing this post-just this bit- i already feel confident. I was being a bit stupid really. Also I don’t know how but I have never really had time even though it was last August.

More posts will be coming up that probably will be called “Fashion In Site” or something like it as that’s another thing linked to this post.

Not just this week but for about a month now I have just been loving cross jewellery. But I added to my one piece collection a few weeks ago so I feel like its more just a couple of weeks for both of the items.

I don’t really know why but I suppose its because I can wear them with any outfit so they are sop versatile and I can also wear the earrings at school so it encourages me to wear them a lot more. Also I find they add a different dimension to an outfit- more of a grungy and rough look. As well they are quite small and subtle and especially in summer you don’t want to wear lots of sticky jewellery so they are perfect for the season coming up.

Earrings £1.50 from River Island

Necklace from Miss Selfridge- was in the sale so not sure what price it was.

Although I do not know the exact price of the necklace I know it wasn’t a lot. I find  lot of  people rave over Topshop too much so I like to look in Miss Selfridge and always to find something that I think “aww that’s cute” or “I need to try this on”. Obviously not everything always looks right but I nearly always find some super cute jewellery.

I remeber that when I was young River Island was the place that was expensive and that you might avoid but i recently re-discovered River Island and its not the cheapest but the most expensive either. The jewellery is a great price and some of the small accessories are too. I love the vibe of it being a bit like a boutique and you should definitely check it out!

I hope you like the first of the new series! See you next week!
