The Best Autumn Fashion Picks Under £50

Autumn is my ultimate favourite season for dressing. I just love to be able to layer up some of my favourite pieces, and really add dimension and interest to an outfit, which is a lot harder to do in the warmer months, when all you want to do is stay cool. However, in Autumn, you have the perfect combination of being able to dress chicly and also not have to worry about being ridiculously cold either. So, you can wear almost anything and make it look beautiful, as long as you layer it up ready for Autumn. It could be a shirt, denim jacket, boots, jumper or even a dress. The key is Autumn colours, patterns and the pieces you love to wear.

This year I really need to invest in some new pieces for Autumn/Winter, as last year I thought I would cope with the pieces I already had. However, this year there’s so many beautiful pieces on the high-street, inspired with some of my favourite autumnal trends. So,  I just need to get some new additions to my wardrobe, and I can justify it this year as I do really need some new bits.

So, I’m sharing my favourite picks on the high-street for Autumn fashion 2018, in snake print, colour blocking, stripes, checks and so much more…

Even though animal print hasn’t ever really been my thing, I’m actually really loving it this time around. This leopard print dress from New Look, just looks the perfect way to wear this trend, and I also love the fit of shirt dresses too. This would be perfect for helping to incorporate more sshapes and interest into my autumnal wardrobe, as I get stuck in jeans and a top a lot of time.

Turtle Necks are something I’ve been loving for ages and for me are such a classic essential for your autumn/winter wardrobe. They go with anything and everything and are basically like the classic black cami or tee-shirt for your summer wardrobe. I love the fit of them and also how warm they keep you too. So, i will definitley be picking up some new one for this year, and these two from New Look and Zara, in colour blocking patterns, will be perfect.

Choosing the right dress is the most important element of the entire prom process. It’s probably the first time in your life that you get to wear a truly special dress, which marks a big moment in your life so far. It’s the end of such a large chapter in your life, and not only says goodbye to the girl, but hello to you as a woman; marking your way into a new part of your life. So this makes it even more important that you nail the dress, or outfit if you’re more into rocking a jumpsuit or co-ord, with my guide on choosing the perfect dress, even when you’re on a budget.

Where To Shop

Even though you’re on a budget, you can still find some gorgeous pieces that would be perfect for an prom or special occasion. The most important thing is to choose carefully where you shop, be patient and be prepared to look around. When I was choosing some of these lovely pieces below, I stuck to the budget of up to 50.00, and you wouldn’t believe that by the look of some of these dresses. That was all thanks to places such as ASOS, New Look, River Island and Zara. All beauties of the high-street that you can easily find or pop online to their websites.

TFNC Sateen Bow Dress £50.00

When choosing a dress there is a few tips that will speed the process up and make it so much easier for you to find your perfect dress:

  • Spend time shopping online, even though you can’t try the pieces on before you buy them, online brands don’t have as many overheads and can offer much more affordable prices and also often have discount codes you can use to save a bit of money.
  • Decide on your budget and then use the price filter, when looking for pieces online, so that you will be looking at everything in your price range and not fall in love with something that’s way too expensive.
  • Know your body shape, and have a rough idea of what you want; as there’s so many different styles, colours and silhouette’s that it can get over whelming unless you know a little bit about what you want, and what suits you.

The Silhoutte’s

The Maxi Dress: ASOS Grey Pearl Neck Dress £45.00

The Wrap Dress:Topshop Twisted Dress 39.00

The Midi Dress:ASOS Bandeau Dress 45.00

The Maxi Dress– This is one of the most classic silhouette’s for evening wear and the most elegant. If you want a traditional prom dress, then is the style to go for as it enhances every body type by creating emphasis on your top half and slimming and elongating your bottom half. A perfect example of this would be the gorgeous beaded neck grey dress from ASOS.

The Wrap Dress– This is a more modern and yet still elegant take on a prom dress, as it really empahsises your curves and creates a tiny waist, while making sure everything is covered in a really modest way. I think these look best on body shapes which have a more boyfriend frame, to create the illusion of curves, or the traditional hour glass as would really enhance the natural curves of your body. A lovely example of this would be the midnight blue wrap dress from Topshop.

The Midi Dress– This a new take on the classic maxi, but with more of a playful twist. It still looks super chic, with a skirt just touching below the knee but is showing off your lower calf and a gorgeous pair of shoes. This works best on taller girls, as they can take the length and it really helps them to elongate their bodies. A perfect example would be the blush bandeau midi dress from ASOS.

3 Valentines Day Outfits

IMG_3142[1]IMG_3145[1]IMG_3148[1]

As Valentines Day is now only a week away, I thought I would give you a few ideas for outfits you can wear for the day. Whether you’re going out for drinks, and want something slightly more casual yet still dressy, going out for a really fancy meal or just going for a relaxing day date, I’ve got an outfit idea to suit every occasion.

If you’re off to a lovely posh meal this Valentines day, then a statement dress would be the perfect choice. I always think they ooze femininity, and are so easy to create an outfit around. You can so easily make the dress the statement and then keep it neutral with the accessories, like I’ve done with this gorgeous lazer cut Karen Millen dress. This is one of my favourite items in my wardrobe, because I just love the pop of red. I always think red looks beautiful on women, and I love pairing it with bouncy curls and top it all off with a red lip. I’ve then kept the jewellery and accessories neutral, with a nude bow clutch bag from Coast, and kept the rose gold theme running through into my circular Pandora necklace. Which has small cut out hearts around the edge, which I thought would be perfect for valentines.

However, if you’re looking for a more relaxed day date outfit, then a classic cami and a leather skirt would be the perfect choice. I love matching a really delicate and lacy piece, with a more masculine leather piece, and the two just compliment each other so nicely. But, as it is valentines day, I thought the added pink of the skirt still keeps it girly and perfect for a day date. Whether it’s a picnic, a walk in the park or a day out, this would really work, and then you can take it into the evening with the addition of this pink blazer from L K Bennett and a statement necklace.

What date are you planning this Valentines Day?

A Chic New Years Eve Outfit

IMG_3136IMG_3140

Getting dressed up is one of my favourite things to do, and especially when it’s an outfit that I love. You don’t really get the chance to do it every day, as you’re heading to uni or work, so it’s so nice to spend the time to do your hair and makeup and choose a great outfit to live the night in. New Years Eve is always a special occasion for me and means a lot, so this outfit will have some many memories for me from an amazing night with family, friends and my boyfriend.

IMG_3139The main piece of my outfit was this gorgeous blush pink blazer from LKBennett, and was also such a bargain. It was such a great buy from Biscester Outlet village, and was supposed to be orginally around £348, and I got it for only £83. I couldn’t believe the price tag when i first saw it on the rail, and as soon as i tried it on i fell in love with it. Not only is the colour so gorgeous, it also fits like a glove and looks so classic. It looks elegant and chic, but still has a young, feminine twist, which i know will never go out of style. It’s a piece ill be able to keep in my wardrobe for years and something i know I’ll love forever.

So to make the most of this gorgeous piece, I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit fairley simple and put together, to draw the look into one. To do this, I paired the blazer with my favourite black lace cami from new look. I love how chic and femine this looks, and it contrasts the hard tailoring of the blazer perfectly. It’s also so comfortable and such a staple in my wardrobe. I just wish they brought them out again, as i’ve wanted more ever since, and really fancy a grey, mink or blush pink one.

Then, to finish the look off I paired it with a pair of grey, faux leather trousers. They might look a bit weird, but they add so much class to an outfit and a bit of luxury, as it’s not the traditional denim jeans. As well as the trousers, I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to my outfit, and so i added thsi goregous opal necklace, that i bought from a small independant jewellery stall a few years ago. I dont get that much chance to wear it, but it looked perfect with this outfit and the pink of the blazer picked up the pink of the opal perfectly.

What did you wear this New Years Eve?

OOTD | Celebratory Drinks

IMG_3098[1]IMG_3100[1]IMG_3101[1]

Eveningwear has to my ultimate favourite type of clothing to wear and style into an outfit. I love that you can play with different texture’s, colours, go sheer and always add some form of sparkle. It’s just so much more playful and I always feel so much more special when I’ve made a real effort with my outfit in the evening. So, as I went out for a few celebratory drinks with some of the lovelies at work, over the weekend, I thought I would share my outfit of the night. It’s one of my favourite’s and the perfect put together, but also still relaxed look.

So, first let’s talk about a key part of this look, and it really starts with the underwear. It’s essential with these gorgeous white cropped trousers, from New Look, that you’re extra careful about the underwear you wear. They can be pretty see-through and so a good pair of nude pants is essential, or even a nude thong. Also, as this high necked, purple top which is also from New Look, is super sheer, you have two options. For the day time, I always just pop a black cami underneath and this protects all your dignity and also looks presentable for the day time. However, in the evening I love to pair it with a black Bralette from Victoria Secret underneath. It just adds a bit of playfulness to the outfit and makes it more evening appropriate.

The two key items of the outfit themselves, the top and the trousers, are both favourites from my wardrobe. I not only love the colour of this top and how you can really get away with wearing it all year round, it also looks great on my skin tone and really compliments gold eye makeup and rose gold jewellery. It also has a really lovely fit, and even though it’s got a high neck, if you wear it sheer, then it’s still very feminine and a bit sexy as well. As the trousers really are a staple in my wardrobe, and can be worn both day and night. They look good with so many different items and I love how they really pull in my waist and emphasise my long legs, especially if I wear them with heels.

To pull the look together, I went for my new grey suede, cropped biker jacket, which is also a purchase from good old New Look. I love how this not only kept me warm during the evening, but it also adds a different texture and colour to the outfit. The cut of the jacket also looks great with these trousers, as it just finishes when the trousers are pulling in at my waist, so it really just compliments the outfit and looks super classy. Also, I just paired my favourite pair of nude heels with the outfit, as not only are they the most comfortable pair of heels I own, they also look amazing on and really compliment so many outfits. They also make sure I look elegant but not too tall, as I’m already 5ft 11 in flats. The silver clutch just added a bit of sparkle to the outfit and also created a home for the bare essentials I needed for the night; my money, phone, ID, Cards and of course my eye-lash glue.

What’s your favourite type of clothing to style?
