The Best Of We Heart It- May Part 2

The Quotes

Hello Lovelies

I wonder what defines a quote. Who actually says these things, that so many of us know and live our lives by, and how exactly does it end up catching on and being something that so many people say. It just seems like such a hidden mystery! It’s not like when me or you say something, that someone decides that it’s so good that it should be known by millions of people worldwide.

Quotes seem like such simple things, because at the end of the day, it’s only what someone, somewhere has said. But actually they’re quite complicated. Who actually thinks up of the weird and cryptic sayings that we have, such as “touch wood”, “Bob’s your Uncle” and “Mad as a box of frogs”.  I suppose these just show how weird English people are, but I’m sure that other countries have sayings that are really odd too.

The whole secret story behind quotes, kind of makes me like them more. It makes me wonder who actually said this quote and what was happening in their lives at that time. Also, did this quote help them get through a hard time, and is it a quote that someone else has used for positive encouragement. I know it seems like I’m over thinking things and looking too far into things, but it’s just what questions come up in my mind when I’m on websites like We Heart It, and I’m seeing thousands of different quotes. How do they not run out of little, witty sayings to post?

So, when your looking and reading through my favourite quotes from we heart throughout may, just think about the questions that they raise in your head, and how they make you feel. Is it a positive or a negative feeling? Does it make you feel uncomfortable or is it really relatable?

(P.S- Sorry for being so deep!)

My Absolute Favourite

I think it has to be: “Life is like riding a bicycle, in order to keep your balance, you have to keep moving”.  I like this because it’s so easy to just lock yourself away when bad things happen and not want to do anything. But if you do that, then life is never going to get better, and in the end you’ll end up worse. Also, I feel like this is so relatable to so many people’s lives at the minute, and I think that we all need to have a little bit of encouragement to stay positive and be happy, when life isn’t that great!

I hope you enjoyed a little bit of a different take to this months The Best Of We Heart It posts, I always find it hard to not just be repeating myself, but to actually write something new that people want to read.

What’s your favourite quote at the moment??

Love you all

Talky Tuesday #1- Blogging Boundaries

Hello Lovelies

Personally, I still find certain element’s of blogging hard. I don’t necessarily mean that I find the physical thing of blogging difficult, such as writing posts, and creating content. Overall I just mean, the whole sharing your life online and kind of being an online persona. Obviously, I’m far from being internet famous, and millions of people don’t know my name, but anyone around the world can still find my blog and read about certain elements of my life,  if they want to.

The whole concept of how quickly a blog can grow and how you can create a viewing base so rapidly, is actually really daunting. When I first started rachelspick, I never thought about where it would be in, a month, two months, a year or two years. I know that sounds like such a stupid thing to do, but it was such a spontaneous decision to even start blogging, that everything else just didn’t seem to occur to me.

In one way, my starting situation makes where I am today even more intimidating, and I can’t even comprehend 1,243 people wanting to follow my blog. But on the other hand, it also makes this experience, and this online “life” that I live, even more exciting, and I seem to enjoy blogging more and more each day. It’s true when they say that blogging changes you, I suppose you become more of an open person in one respect, but you also treasure the moments that only you live and that are not documented for the whole world to see.

Another reason, that seems to hold me back, and also probably a lot of new bloggers, is just the fact that were brought up and told never to share personal information online, and to be careful what we say and do. Of course I’m still careful and would never disclose really important information onto the internet, but I still share a lot more than a usual person would. Obviously, most of us have social media, so to an extent were all open and known by the internet in some ways, but we choose how much of our lives we want to share on there. It’s nothing like blogging, blogging is at a completely different level.

Honestly, I’m not saying that I’m surprised about what blogging entails, and that I didn’t know that all of  this was a part of blogging, because trust me, I know it is. I know that when your a blogger your a form of joy to people, and that you entertainment people.  I’m also not trying to sound ungrateful, or anything like that, but I’m just trying to express to you that you have to except that even people who seem to share so much of their lives online, can still find sharing part of their life experiences and doing certain things hard, were not superman!  You need to bare with us sometimes, and remember that were no different to any one of you, We just like to share our passions and our lives on the internet.

I’m going to wrap this post up now, because I feel like if I don’t then it’s just going to be one massive long piece of writing that will take about a year to read. If your reading this, then you’ve probably just put up with my massive ramblings about blogging and a certain part of how I feel at the moment. But, I just want to say thank you for taking the time to read this post properly, and not just dismissing it because it’s too long and there’s only one picture.

I still feel like I have so much to say about this topic, but I will save that for another talky Tuesday post. I hope you all enjoyed this little series that I’ve started. I really have no idea what schedule it’s going to be on, because I don’t want to commit to something that in the end may not work out. Please let me know what you think about it, through twitter, Facebook or please feel free to comment, I will always get back to you as quickly as possible. (All my social media links are in the sidebar)
