3 Valentines Day Outfits

IMG_3142[1]IMG_3145[1]IMG_3148[1]

As Valentines Day is now only a week away, I thought I would give you a few ideas for outfits you can wear for the day. Whether you’re going out for drinks, and want something slightly more casual yet still dressy, going out for a really fancy meal or just going for a relaxing day date, I’ve got an outfit idea to suit every occasion.

If you’re off to a lovely posh meal this Valentines day, then a statement dress would be the perfect choice. I always think they ooze femininity, and are so easy to create an outfit around. You can so easily make the dress the statement and then keep it neutral with the accessories, like I’ve done with this gorgeous lazer cut Karen Millen dress. This is one of my favourite items in my wardrobe, because I just love the pop of red. I always think red looks beautiful on women, and I love pairing it with bouncy curls and top it all off with a red lip. I’ve then kept the jewellery and accessories neutral, with a nude bow clutch bag from Coast, and kept the rose gold theme running through into my circular Pandora necklace. Which has small cut out hearts around the edge, which I thought would be perfect for valentines.

However, if you’re looking for a more relaxed day date outfit, then a classic cami and a leather skirt would be the perfect choice. I love matching a really delicate and lacy piece, with a more masculine leather piece, and the two just compliment each other so nicely. But, as it is valentines day, I thought the added pink of the skirt still keeps it girly and perfect for a day date. Whether it’s a picnic, a walk in the park or a day out, this would really work, and then you can take it into the evening with the addition of this pink blazer from L K Bennett and a statement necklace.

What date are you planning this Valentines Day?

Valentines Day is fast approaching and is a time for you to celebrate not only being in a relationship with an amazing person you love, but also to celebrate youself, if you’re single this year. Whether you’re taken or single, you still want to enjoy the day and look amazing doing it, so I’m working with Zaful this Valentines Day to give you some style inspiration and show you some of the beautfiul pieces they’ve got on offer for you to pick up.

When it comes to Valentines this year I want to look feminine and girly, as well as still challenging a chic and elegant look. So my key colour palette is going to be Red, Black and White, with a hint of cream and blush to go along side it. This is because they are not only appropriate colours for the day, but I always think that Red looks beautiful on women and shows a real feminine strength. It looks perfect as a dress, jumper, a statement jumpsuit or just as an accessory to an outfit; with a pair of red shoes or a good old red lip.

So, if you’re looking for a red piece this Valentines Day, this Crochet Cami Dress from Zaful would be a perfect buy. Lace is always such a gorgeous look and so why not wear it in a full piece this year. It would look beautiful paired simply with a pair of nude heels and some bouncy curls, or create a bit more of a european look by pairing it with a loose low bun. You can see more of the lovely dresses they have to offer when you click here. There’s also room for some gorgeous red underwear this Valentines Day, and body suits are the must buy this year. So, this Sheer Lace one from Zaful is the best buy for you. It still creates a sexy look, but keeps it classy and elegant; which you can’t ever beat with underwear. My Top 5 | Spring Wardrobe Essentials

A Summer Jacket

A summer jacket is an absolute essential for me when it comes to styling up outfits for Spring, as it can still be quite cold and I really need another layer to keep me warm. So, this is why I just can’t live without this grey suede biker jacket from New Look, because it’s so super versatile and can be worn with any outfit, whether that’s a spring dress, jeans or even a playsuit. I had a jacket identical to this, but only in a lighter colour, last spring/summer, but I lost it and I had to purchase a new one; as I was so lost when trying to pair outfits together and I was always wishing that it was still in my wardrobe. So, I knew that this new purchase would instantly be a staple in my wardrobe, and I’m also loving faux suede at the minute and the fact of how good the cropped biker style looks, with any items that highlight my waist.

Lighter Washed Jeans

I know this pair in particular aren’t exactly light washed, however they’re definitely a summer jean and look perfect paired with gorgeous, floaty tops and tan sandals. I wouldn’t usually wear a pair of jeans this blue, during the winter months, however they really bring much needed colour to my spring outfits and this pair also fit amazingly. I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect jean, because I like a really skinny fit and I’m tall; so finding a jean that’s not too short and fits well right from the waist to the ankle, is very difficult. However, these are a very recent purchase from M&S, would you believe it, and I’m so happy with them. They look great on and were also a bargain at £19.50 a pair; miles better than all the other high-street jeans I’ve tried on.

A Pair of Converse

Converse are the perfect spring/summer shoe, as they’re made for events such as festivals, picnic’s and long adventure’s. They are so comfortable and are such a classic shoe, which you can wear from day to night with any outfit, for any occasion. They’re super versatile and I love to have at least one pair to get me through the summer. So, this year I’ve gone for this gorgeous tan leather pair with rose gold eyelets. I’ve already raved about these beauties a lot in their own blog post, so I will link it HERE and you can go and have a good read.

An Embroided TopIMG_2999[1]

This season I honestly cant get enough of embroidery, and so it’s no wonder than an embroided top is an essential item for my spring wardrobe. There is something so feminine and girly about embroidery, and that’s why I’m loving to wear it as we go into spring and I’m wearing more light and floaty items. With this top in particular, which is a little River Island number by the way, I really love how all the details are in red, which makes it stand out and also looks great with a red lip. The wide bell style sleeves also look surprisingly flattering and perfectly compliment the peplum at the bottom. This is my favourite spring piece from my wardrobe, and I cant get enough of how beautiful it is.

The Lace Dress

This white dress is a real staple in my spring/summer wardrobe, as it’s so light, cool to wear and also looks amazing with a tan. I love how it has a real festival and bohemian vibe, and it looks perfect paired with a plaited hair style and tan accessories. The lace really just adds detail to both the piece and compliments your outfit really well; making it super girly and feminine. It’s just the ideal throw on and go piece, and I could wear this endlessly during spring and summer. I’m so glad it’s now getting warm enough to wear it.

What are your style essentials for this season?

#SS |3 Trends I’m Loving / Summer Edition

IMG_2569[1]

When it comes to fashion and personal style, I’m not usually someone who is obsessed with the trends and like’s to follow every single one. I much prefer to just choose items and styles that I love, and create a wardrobe that reflects my own personal style. Not just the latest trends to hit the catwalk. Obviously, as I’m really interested in fashion and want to make it my career, I think it’s important for me to know what the trends are and to be able to comment on what is popular in the fashion world. But that doesn’t meant that I always apply that to my own style. However, throughout each season there always seems to be a few trends, which I love along the way, and as it’s the #Summer Special series, I thought I would start off with a summer themed edition…

The Bomber Jacket

IMG_2564[1]

They’re probably one of the biggest trends this Spring/Summer, and a trend that everyone seems to be loving. Whether it’s the thicker style of bomber jacket, popular back in the 90’s, and that can actually be counted as an item that could keep you warm on a chilly evening, or the more current embroidered bomber, which is literally just for show. There’s so many different varieties of bomber jackets and it has to be my number 1 favourite trend this season. Who ever you are, what ever your style or gender, there is a bomber jacket for you.

How I’m styling it: When it comes to styling a bomber I’m all about the super chic casual vibe. I love pairing my various bomber jackets with a good old pair of black jeans, a pair of converse and a casual white tee. For me this is just the best way to wear bomber’s, and they also make a super simple outfit look like you’re really put together. I’m literally in love with them right now.

Lace

IMG_2562[1].JPG

This trend is definitely a shock to my personal style, as before spring/summer 16 the only place that lace appeared in my wardrobe, was on my knickers. However, the higher powers in the fashion world have been able to change my mind, and I’m officially in love with the lace items I have in my wardrobe. Although, I’m still super picky about what style’s and pieces it comes on. For me personally it’s all about the more chic and classy ways to wear lace, and I like it when it has a very simple pattern and not too much going on.

How I’m styling it: As lace is so super pretty and feminine, and my style is not always that girly, I generally like to contrast it with something a bit more edgy. I have two gorgeous lace camisole’s from New Look, and I really love to pair them with both of my faux leather skirts. By having a girly lace, on a darker or more neutral shade, and an edgy faux leather but in more of a girly pastel colour, means the whole outfit gets balanced out nicely and looks amazing. However, I also have a lovely white lace dress, also from New Look, which I love to go all bohemian with and pair with my brown suede boots and my brown faux suede jacket. This has been my go-to summer look and I actually feel so pretty when I wear this look.

It’s All About the Waist

IMG_2566[1].JPG

At one time it was all about the shift dresses and loose boyfriend silhouette’s, however now it’s all about that waist and creating that womanly figure. The most popular way to rock this trend this season, has been through the ‘paper bag’ style of trousers, which pull in at the waist and allows the fabric to create a structured effect around the waist. These trousers really flatter the womanly figure, but they can also look super masculine and rock that #girlboss look. However, throughout the season, what ever outfit you’ve been wearing, it all about pulling it in at the waist, or tucking it in, to flatter that figure. I’m always loving this trend and just think that the silhouette, which it creates, has always suited my figure.

How I’m styling it: There’s quite a few ways that I love to wear this trend, because like I mentioned before it’s something that’s a staple in my wardrobe and I always do it. Whether that’s if I’m wearing a dress, a skirt, trousers or a jumpsuit, I will usually either pull it in and create a waist line, or already be wearing an item that clinches in at the waist. For me I just love tucking tops into skirts and high-waisted trousers, because it looks so much more flattering and feminine. I wouldn’t even really count this as a trend, just more of a styling option.

All Images sourced form my ‘Fashion & Style ‘Pinterest Board

Summer style can be one of the trickiest season’s to master, and something which takes a lot of know how about your own personal style and the pieces which truly suit your body shape. Many people can get summer style so wrong, and so I think there’s 3 basic rules when it comes to summer style in general: 1. Know what pieces and styles suit your body shape and flatter your figure 2. Think about your desired colour palette and which colours and patterns suit you and your personal style 3. Most importantly, you need to have a bit of styling inspiration and know how to transition your summer wardrobe pieces into chic season appropriate outfits.

After having a good few weeks of summer sun, and also a holiday in between, I think I’ve got my personal summer style nailed and know exactly what vibes I’m going for. If I was to describe my 2016 summer style, in 4 words, it would be White, Lace, Tan and Chic, due to my obsession with my tan sandals and dedicated to my constant desire to make my style a lot more chic. I’ve really been loving lace camisole’s, at the minute, because of how cool they are to wear, they’re chic and also really versatile pieces; they also add a bit of feminity to any form of outfit. However, white has to always be my go-to colour for summer and a something I can’t get enough of. White dresses and tops have be my favourite variety, however I do own a lovely pair of white trousers, which I love wearing as well.

How would you define your summer style so far?

I’ve you loved this post and would like to catch up on the rest of the #SummerSpecial series so far, you can go and have a read HERE.
