Spring Colour Edit 2017

Spring Colour EditSpring Colour Edit 2

The transition from Winter to Spring has to my favourite out of all the seasons. I love being able to move away from the everyday jumper and jeans uniform, and into experimenting with bright colours and patterns. There’s something that so exciting about dressing for spring, as you know that warmer days, longer nights and so many adventures are just around the corner. So, today I’m working with Bonobos and sharing my go-to colours, for the spring season; and creating two gorgeous his and hers looks to go along with them.

Red- This never used to be a colour that I gravitated to or that was really even present in my wardrobe, however lately I’m loving it. I think it’s down to the fact that I have a new love for red lipstick, as it’s so feminine and classic. It instantly adds another dimension to an outfit and really pulls it all together. So, my new obsession with red patterned clothing is definitely inspired by my current favourite lip colour. This gorgeous embroided top from River Island is the best way to wear red, as I love the fact it’s still mixed with white and even though the two colours contrast, they work well together to create a beautiful look.

Spring Colour Edit 4White- Talking of white, this is also one of my go-to colours when it comes to Spring. I love how well it works with my brown hair, and it looks amazing with a golden tan and tan accessories. It’s such a feminine colour, yet it has a real classic vibe and can work for almost anyone in some way. My favourite wear to rock white, during spring is through lace. I love pairing the girly lace with a harsher denim, and creating a really good contrast. I honestly think that’s the trick to white, is to think about how you can pair it will something completely different, or you go for it whole-heartedly and rock the bohemian vibe’s.

Light Blue- I’m all about the lighter denim’s when it comes to spring, and I love being able to pair different lace’s, embroidery’s and textures with a real spring jean. They instantly lift your outfit and bring it bang on trend and in season.  I’m really starting to experiment more with blue, as it is supposed to one of my colours I should wear, and move away from my classic black jeans.

Rose Gold- I couldn’t go through this whole blog post without mentioning my favourite metal of all time, and that’s beautiful rose gold. It’s such a feminine metal, and really adds a warmth to your outfit. I love how well it looks with red, white, blue and just my entire spring colour scheme. It’s something different from the traditional harsh gold and silver, and rose gold looks good whether it’s a cheap costume piece, or whether you’ve invested that little bit more for a more luxurious piece.

Blush Pink- Finally, I’ve also been loving blush pink for ages and I’m just going to continue to roll it on into spring. I love how feminine it is, however you can mix it with a faux leather skirt and you’re instantly creating an amazing look. It’s a new neutral, and can almost be worn with any colour and in any way you wish to. It’s the perfect colour for summer weddings, a prom or even just a day out. It’s so super versatile and is a great shade to add to along side your classic monochrome.

Bonobos womens

This women’s look is a gorgeous formal take on my spring colour palette, with the red prom style dress taking center stage. I love this dress so much it’s even a contender for being my dress for my sixth form leavers ball in July. It’s such a beautiful piece, and creates a real statement being all red. However, the lace pattern makes it much more fresh and spring/summer appropriate.

I’ve then gone along with the rose gold colour palette through out my accessories; with these strappy rose sandals from Pretty Little Thing, and this stunning pearl earrings from Tiffany. I love how these have a crystal encrusted rose gold bar, which contrasts with the pearl and also ties my whole look together. The bag is a unique find from ASOS, and is a little bit of a statement but makes the outfit more casual. However, you could easily swap this with a formal clutch for a special event.

Bonobos mens

When it comes to the men’s look, I’ve gone for a much more casual vibe that you could wear on a day out or just to have a few drinks at the local pub. It’s super relaxed with this red bomber, from ASOS, that really brings colour to the entire outfit. Bombers are bang on trend at the minute, and are perfect to throw on in the spring when it’s not quite warm enough to just wear a short sleeve shirt. I love how this one is a bit more of a burgundy, which ties in well with all the rest of the muted colour palette.

To pair with the bomber, I’ve gone for a pattern white and navy shirt, with nautical themed sharks on. It adds a bit of pattern and intricacy to the outfit, and I also think that pattern shirts add a bit of fun to a spring/summer outfit. The navy shorts, also from Bonobos tie in with the pattern on the shirt and create an exact colour palette down the centre of the body. Then the bomber is there to bring a more relaxed vibe and style to the outfit. To tie it all together, I’ve picked a brown holdall. This colour looks amazing when paired with navy and would also be a great piece to travel with.

My Top 5 | Spring Wardrobe Essentials

A Summer Jacket

A summer jacket is an absolute essential for me when it comes to styling up outfits for Spring, as it can still be quite cold and I really need another layer to keep me warm. So, this is why I just can’t live without this grey suede biker jacket from New Look, because it’s so super versatile and can be worn with any outfit, whether that’s a spring dress, jeans or even a playsuit. I had a jacket identical to this, but only in a lighter colour, last spring/summer, but I lost it and I had to purchase a new one; as I was so lost when trying to pair outfits together and I was always wishing that it was still in my wardrobe. So, I knew that this new purchase would instantly be a staple in my wardrobe, and I’m also loving faux suede at the minute and the fact of how good the cropped biker style looks, with any items that highlight my waist.

Lighter Washed Jeans

I know this pair in particular aren’t exactly light washed, however they’re definitely a summer jean and look perfect paired with gorgeous, floaty tops and tan sandals. I wouldn’t usually wear a pair of jeans this blue, during the winter months, however they really bring much needed colour to my spring outfits and this pair also fit amazingly. I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect jean, because I like a really skinny fit and I’m tall; so finding a jean that’s not too short and fits well right from the waist to the ankle, is very difficult. However, these are a very recent purchase from M&S, would you believe it, and I’m so happy with them. They look great on and were also a bargain at £19.50 a pair; miles better than all the other high-street jeans I’ve tried on.

A Pair of Converse

Converse are the perfect spring/summer shoe, as they’re made for events such as festivals, picnic’s and long adventure’s. They are so comfortable and are such a classic shoe, which you can wear from day to night with any outfit, for any occasion. They’re super versatile and I love to have at least one pair to get me through the summer. So, this year I’ve gone for this gorgeous tan leather pair with rose gold eyelets. I’ve already raved about these beauties a lot in their own blog post, so I will link it HERE and you can go and have a good read.

An Embroided TopIMG_2999[1]

This season I honestly cant get enough of embroidery, and so it’s no wonder than an embroided top is an essential item for my spring wardrobe. There is something so feminine and girly about embroidery, and that’s why I’m loving to wear it as we go into spring and I’m wearing more light and floaty items. With this top in particular, which is a little River Island number by the way, I really love how all the details are in red, which makes it stand out and also looks great with a red lip. The wide bell style sleeves also look surprisingly flattering and perfectly compliment the peplum at the bottom. This is my favourite spring piece from my wardrobe, and I cant get enough of how beautiful it is.

The Lace Dress

This white dress is a real staple in my spring/summer wardrobe, as it’s so light, cool to wear and also looks amazing with a tan. I love how it has a real festival and bohemian vibe, and it looks perfect paired with a plaited hair style and tan accessories. The lace really just adds detail to both the piece and compliments your outfit really well; making it super girly and feminine. It’s just the ideal throw on and go piece, and I could wear this endlessly during spring and summer. I’m so glad it’s now getting warm enough to wear it.

What are your style essentials for this season?

Exclusive Leather Rose Gold Converse

IMG_2997[1]IMG_2995[1]IMG_2998[1]

Without a doubt converse have to be my favourite type and style of shoe to wear. They’re not only the most comfortable to shoes to wear on earth, but they’re also super versatile and can be worn with a variety of different outfits. It doesn’t matter if you’re pairing them with a casual outfit, to wear to college or uni, or you’ve got a more dressy outfit on but need a pair of shoes you know you can trust, Converse are the perfect choice. Obviously, I wouldn’t recommend you wear them for a really special occasion, like a night in town or going out for cocktails with the girls, but for day to day life converse are the definitely the shoe to go for.

I’ve been in love with Converse for quite a few years now, and I honestly don’t think you can beat a pair of the classic white shoe style, as they look so iconic on your feet and really finish a casual outfit off. They’re always the best when they’re really crisp and white, because they look so effortlessly chic and you just cant beat a nice new pair of Converse. However, I’ve strayed from my traditional roots, as I’ve had my eye on the pastel nude collection ever since they were first launched last year. I loved how girly they looked and how they added a bit more of luxe vibe to your classic converse shoe.

So, last week I popped into Office and picked up this gorgeous tan, leather pair with rose gold accents and I’m absolutely in love with them. Ever since I first took them out of the box, they have just lived on my feet and I’m so obsessed with them. Not only are they super comfortable, like all converse, but they are also so beautiful and feminine. The tan leather goes with nearly every colour and casual outfit in my wardrobe, and the rose gold accents just top off the whole look of the shoe for me, as it’s my favourite type of metal. They are quite a pricey pair of shoes, at 62.99, but I honestly think it’s worth the money for the quality comfort and beauty of these gorgeous shoes.

What do you think to the Converse pastels range?

Spring Style Inspiration & 3 Wearable Trends

Style Inspo 2017Spring Style Inspo 2

All images sourced from Pinterest

Spring is finally starting to appear, as the evenings get lighter and the weather is getting so much warmer. So, we also have to alter what items we pull out of wardrobe everyday, to suit this new season. This year it’s all about the white that’s contrasted with lot’s of bright tones, especially pink and canary yellow, they’re two massive colours this season. There’s also the classic denim thrown in, with embroidery, lace and also a good love for suede as well. Spring 2017 really is a large mix of different trends, styles and  taste’s to form one huge, inclusive fashion season. So, here’s a bit of style inspiration to get your creative styling juices flowing…

Trends are also a massive part of the fashion world, and something that even though we might be completely unaware of, really do rule the entire design world. However, we can’t all afford the latest Gucci belt or the newest Burberry trench, but we can look at the trends for inspiration and make them wearable in everyday style.

Suede

The suede trend is still hanging around from when we had the 70’s colour palette revival back in 2015, however its had a bit more of a classic edge put onto it. Now it’s all about using suede in a luxurious way and to add a different element to an outfit. Wearing it through a biker jacket is bang on trend right now, and mix that with the brights trend and you have one high fashion item for 2017. However, I much prefer to keep it more tonal and go for the creams, brown and beige’s, that can be worn with anything and are a true wardrobe staple in summer, when you need a light jacket you can just throw on with your outfit.

The Staple Accessory

We can’t all afford, or even justify in spending hundreds of pounds on the latest white the to hit the catwalk or the newest trench style, however we do all love to invest in a good staple accessory. They’re a perfect way to add a luxury stamp to your outfit and instantly bring your whole look to life. I’m thinking a killer pair of statement red heels, a structured bag or even something designer, if you want to invest in a higher quality piece.

Layering

This has to be one of the easiest trends to achieve and one that honestly looks the most effective. When you want to create a really stylish look, the key is to think about different texture’s, tonal colours and different styles. So, think about layering a polo neck under your biker jacket, or add a camisole under your open white shirt. Not only does it look like you’ve put more effort into putting your look together, it also looks so much ore unique and stylish.

What trends are you loving this spring season?

My Fashion Reading List | 2017

IMG_2969IMG_2972IMG_2971

As you all know, I love fashion, and that’s why I not only write a fashion and style blog but also want to make it my future career. So, it’s no wonder that I have lot’s of fashion related things, such as magazine’s, books and even a really gorgeous Parian Street Style colouring book. I love collecting all of the beautiful things out there, that are to do with fashion and in particular I have a growing collection of fashion books; ranging from the best places to shop in different cities, to an entire journey into the history of fashion. So, as I have recently added a few more items to my collection, I thought I would share my 2017 fashion reading list with you all; talking through some of the amazing books in my collection which I really want to delve into this year…

Vogue On Christian Dior

This is the second book that I have from the ‘Vogue On’ series, and it’s a really interesting one about the life and work of the one and only Christian Dior. Originally a French fashion designer, and now the name of one of the biggest fashion houses in the world. He really is a true icon within fashion and someone who is so interesting to read about. I love finding about how famous designers came to be, their background and also what made them so revolutionary at the time they became well-known. So, I can’t wait to delve into this one and find out all about the man himself, his fashion house and how he became so iconic. Also, there’s a really good documentary, that was on All 4, that looked inside Dior and followed each different element of the fashion house; for any fashion lover it would be so amazing and I would really recommend giving it a watch.

Where Stylists Shop

This is the newest addition to my collection and one which I’m super excited to read. This book uncovers some of the amazing places, in cities all across the world, where fashion stylists shop. It sounds so interesting and especially as I not only love shopping, but would like to dabble with a bit of fashion styling myself in the future. This is definitely going to be a good book to keep with me after I finish my degree and I’m hopefully a fashion buyer. It’s also just a great read and the perfect way to find those undiscovered gems that are unbelievable places to shop.

London Style Guide

This book is a bit more of an entire lifestyle overview of London and some of the best places to visit, shop and eat. London is not only one of my favourite cities, because I just love the vibe and it’s so me, but it’s also my country’s capital city and I feel proud of how much of a figure it is in the fashion world. This will be a great one to have when I visit London and a perfect way to discover new places to go, that aren’t as widely known. I can’t wait to sit down and have a proper read of this.

The Fashion Book

This is the true fashion bible and one that I’ll be able to constantly refer back to and read, both now and during my degree. It’s a book that really takes you a journey through fashion’s history; highlighting some of the key icons, trends and periods of time along the way. It looks so interesting and a book I’m sure I will treasure forever in my collection. Although, it’s super heavy, so it will definitely not be a bed time read.

Is there any fashion books you’ve read and would recommend to me?
