Get Ready With Me | Valentine’s Day

IMG_2947[1]IMG_2949[1]

Whether you’re spending Valentine’s day with a special person in your life or you’re just going out with the girls; getting your outfit right is a priority. I always feel so much more confident and ready for the night, if I love my outfit; so choosing the perfect piece to wear is super important to me. It could be a jumpsuit, playsuit, or a beautiful dress, like one form AX Paris, it’s all about finding that item you love, that fits perfectly and makes you feel camera ready, at any point throughout the night. So, here’s what I would wear for a date this valentine’s day or just a few drinks with the girls.

This beautiful floral A-Line dress from AX Paris is the real star piece of the outfit, and is an item I really love in my wardrobe. It’s such a feminine and pretty dress, which is perfect for those more special evenings out or even a wedding. I’m actually planning to wear to one of my best friends’ wedding, so I know it’s super appropriate for that as well.

The A-line style is really great for my body shape, as it really highlights my small waist and flares out nicely to cover my stomach. It’s the perfect dress style for anyone who is more curvy and who finds that pleats around the waist just don’t do anything for their body shape. As the floral design looks really pretty and adds a more spring/summer vibe to your outfit. It looks effortlessly stylish, chic and the satin style fabric makes it look really expensive and a good quality piece.

To bring the whole outfit together, I paired it with these nude strappy sandals from Next, which are super comfortable and perfect for you to party in all night long. As, this silver clutch bag is a gorgeous addition to any outfit and especially when it’s paired with some lovely silver rings from Pandora. My fragrance of choice for the evening would be Olympea by Paco Rabanne, because I love how empowering and feminine this scent is. It lasts all night and ensures you always smell amazing.

What are you planning to do this Valentine’s Day?

Dressing for the festive season is all about raiding your wardrobe for anything sparkly and maybe even buying a few new sequin pieces or two; and New Years Eve is no exception. It’s all about celebrating the last night of 2016 in style, and there’s no way you’re going to be rocking a simple little black number. It’s the one night of the year you can really let your style go and choose a piece that you will sparkle in all night; and know that even if 2016 hasn’t been the best year for you, at least you looked amazing in the last few hours of it. So, as this New Years Eve is just around the corner, I thought I would share 17 Sparkly Buys, all under £50…

When it comes to some of the biggest style trends for 2016, knee high boots and body suits have to be mentioned. These sparkly black, knitted Knee High boots, from Boohoo, have to be the perfect piece of footwear to rock for new years eve. They look super chic, elongate your legs and also look amazing paired with a shift or tee-shirt style dress. This pair also have a really lovely point on the end of each boot, which is bang on trend for A/W 16 & 17 and also adds a sharp contrast to a feminine look. On the other hand, this sparkly body suit, from Topshop, would be a great piece to wear if you love a good sequin or two, and want to create a more statement outfit to wear this new years eve. The high neck adds a sense of class, however the plunging slit on the chest keeps it super feminine and sexy. It would look great paired with a more tailored pencil skirt or even jeans, if you’re looking for a more casual look.

A really good dress is a piece I can never fail to love in my wardrobe, and I think new years is no exception. They create an effortlessly chic vibe to your whole outfit and are so easy to throw on and create instant glamour. This one from Pretty Little Thing would be the perfect piece, as it’s not only in a really on trend nude colour, but with pop’s of embellishment it keeps the piece fun and super party appropriate. I’m also really in the love with the long sleeves and the deep slit on the cleavage. However, is bodycon is not your thing and you prefer a piece that’s much more loose and comfortable to wear, then this sparkly blue, ombre shift dress from Zara, would be the perfect choice. The ombre sequin detail makes it a real statement piece and super easy to throw on and pair with some of your favourite neutral heels. The dress really does all the talking and the loose shift style makes it really comfortable to wear, all night long, and will cover a multitude of Christmas sins.

What are you planning to wear this New Years Eve?

Get Ready With Me | Christmas Party

IMG_2888[1]IMG_2895[1]PicMonkey CollageI’m the girl that loves a good party, especially when they’re a festive celebration and Mariah Carey is on the playlist. So, my name is always first on the list when it comes to the work Christmas party or any festive celebration, that involves getting dressed up and buying a piece of clothing to wear. And, this year was no exception, as I headed to a college Christmas party, last week, with two of my beautiful best friends. I really loved the whole getting ready process, especially my outfit, so I thought I would share it all in a Get Ready With Me…

The Outfit: As you all know, I’m a clothes addict and I love any opportunity to be able to purchase a new item to add to my wardrobe. So, when I needed to find a outfit to wear for the college Christmas party, this beautiful red velvet, Karen Millen dress, was the perfect choice. It was a new purchase to add to my collection, and although Karen Millen dresses are quite expensive, the fit is perfect for my body shape and they’re pieces that will last a lifetime. I love everything about this piece, from the way is hugs my body in all the right place’s, flatter’s the fact I have almost no boobs going on, the gorgeous deep red velvet material, which is bang on trend, and how the top gathers to look like a bow. That is why I paired it with my beloved black bow heels, from M&S. I’ve raved about these a lot, but I just want to say how comfortable they are to wear and considering the price, they’re really good quality and look amazing on the feet.

To compliment the red velvet, I paired the dress with some of my favourite rose gold jewellery pieces, such as my lovely Pandora Rose rings and my fossil bracelet. I also wore my rose gold feather bracelet, which was a present from my mum for getting good AS results. It’s a feather for good luck, but also as a memory of my dad, and it’s a piece I will always treasure.

The Hair & Makeup: When it comes to my hair, I just can’t beat a really lovely curled look, which is voluminous and super girly. So, I did my go to hair style, of curling my hair with my lovely GHD’s and then added a bit of volume in the roots by backcombing and adding some dry shampoo. However, when I comes to my makeup I love to go all out and create a really lovely eye makeup look. My absolute life saver is the gorgeous Morphe palette 35T taupe palette, that was an amazing 18th birthday present. It has every shadow colour that I love to wear and more, and is ideal for creating the perfect eye look. In the end I went for a brown/gold smokey eye, topped off with this bronzy gold glitter pigment from Tanya Burr cosmetics and added some fluttery lashes.

To finish my makeup look off, I went for dewy skin with lot’s of bronzer, which has to be my second favourite type of makeup after eyeshadow, and a lovely matte red lip. I used this deep red one from Boujois, which really does create a velvet matte finish, however it is quite sheer and it takes a long time to build up a good strong colour on the lips.

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and go to lot’s of Christmas celebrations.

My 5 Favourite Party Wear Accessories

img_28481img_28451img_28521

Party Wear has to be one of my favourite types of clothing, and I really can’t get enough of some sparkle and a good sequin or two. For me its just the best time for dressing, because I love getting all glammed up and having the opportunity to wear some of my favourite party pieces. However, no good party look is truly complete without a few gorgeous accessories; whether that’s a lovely sparkly clutch or a big statement necklace.

As I’m a bit obsessed with shoes and definitely with handbags, there’s so many accessories that I love to wear, when it comes to going out. However, two of my favourite have to be these sparkly clutch bags from TKMaxx and Miss Selfridge. The black one has a gorgeous iridescent rainbow effect, that glimmers in all different colours, depending on the light, and is really versatile. I’m able to wear it with so many different outfits and is a great investment in my handbag collection. But it’s not exactly the biggest inside, and I can just about squeeze my money, phone and lipstick into it. It’s more about how it looks than how practical it actually is. As, the silver one provides a bit of a bigger and more chic version. It looks beautiful when paired with outfits that are more girly and feminine, as well as when you’re pairing silver jewellery with your outfit. This clutch really sparkles all day and night, and is able to be paired with almost any party wear piece.

Shoes are always a girls best friend and you can truly conquer the world with an amazing pair of shoes on your feet. So, when you’re going out and dancing all night long, a really good pair of shoes is essential. This gorgeous black, laser cut pair have to one of my favourite. They look like they would be really uncomfortable, as they’re super high, however the platform actually makes them quite comfortable, for a pair of high heels. I love how they cover the whole of your foot and are an almost boot style; as well as looking feminine and really sexy.

There’s also this gorgeous pair of silver high heels from Dorothy Perkins, which have to be the perfect pair of party shoes when in comes to how they look. They make your feet look amazing, and really sparkle and shine all night on the dance floor. However, they’re far from comfortable, and are more of a pair you would wear when you don’t have to walk around a lot. A date night or meal out is when these shoes would be in their element, but not for a party or any dancing. They look lovely, and are one of my favourite pairs of shoes I own, but they’re just not suited to every special occasion and night out.

Jewellery is something I really love to wear when I’m going out, and I really love being able to finish my look off with lot’s of my favourite pieces. This gorgeous silver floral necklace ,from Topshop, is really no exception. It’s the biggest and most glam piece of jewellery I own, but it really does look amazing when your going out and want to look super glamourous. It sparkles and shines all night, and is a great addition to a plain white shirt or to just top a look off altogether. The ribbon tie just adds a bit of femininity to the piece and makes sure that it doesn’t look too over powering, when you’re wearing it.

Partywear Style Inspiration & Trends

party-wear-picture-1-rachelspickparty-wear-picture-2-rachelspick

This time of the year is the true party season, and that only means one thing you have to find that perfect outfit. It’s about the sparkle, sequins, toule and texture, as you shine all night on that dancefloor. Whether it’s a work Christmas party, when you want to channel your chic party look, a night out with the girls, where it’s all about having fun and sparkling all evening, or a dinner date; where looking sexy and adding that glimmer of Christmas sparkle, is key. There really is a partywear trend to suit every celebration that festive season…

Velvet is one of the most gorgeous trends when it comes to partywear. It’s such a beautiful fabric, that creates a really sexy and chic take on occasion wear. It’s looks lovely when worn in the deep colour palette of this Autumn/Winter, as deep burgundy’s, mulberry’s and greens take over your style. This is a great fabric if sequins are just a bit too sparkly for you, and you’re looking for a more wintery and chic look. However, they do look lovely worn together, and you can really create the best of both worlds.

Sequins are something that are forever in style when you think about partywear. They just scream seasonal celebrations, that are packed full of fun, laughter and spending all night on the dance floor. My favourite type of sequins have to be in the metallic colours, of gold and silver, as they really make the occasion super special. However, they also look lovely in block colours, of purple, black, grey or navy.
