My Five Highlights From The Month Of July

I know July feels like so long ago, as we’re now over half way into August and the warm summer weather is slowing slipping away from us; but I’m still living in the glory of some of the amazing things that happened in July. With 18th birthday parties, a leaving ball to plan and go to, a two week holiday to look forward to and a new job I was just starting to relax into, I think you can say July was a busy month for me. So, I thought I would share my five favourite parts of it with you all…

IMG_6337Sixth Form Leavers Ball- This had to be my ultimate highlight from July, because it was such a amazing night and a massive achievement for me and my best friends; as we were on the organisation committee. After 3 months of planning, hitting endless hurdles and quite a few strong opinions on the way, the night went down so well and everyone had such a good time. The playlists we created worked perfectly, the photo booth turned up and was used all night, the food was so yummy and the room looked gorgeous. That was personally my favourite part. The black and gold theme we went for worked so well and hanging the balloons, paper pom poms and fans from the ceiling just topped the whole look of it off completely.

I was also in love with my white lace French Connection dress, as it was the perfect choice for the ball and to be able to wear out in the club afterwards. With the accessories I just kept them neutral and then went for a brown smoky eye and lot’s of bronzer. I also adored my hair, the lady who did it for me was so lovely and it was exactly what I wanted.  It was girly, had that relaxed boho vibe and looked gorgeous with my dress.

20369744_10154813150892895_6432531080327199198_oFamily Holiday- Every other year its become a tradition that my whole dads side of the family go on a big 2 week holiday together. It’s a holiday of family fun, laughter, making memories and spending time together. For the last few years we’ve headed off to the region of Normandy in France, and it’s a place where we all love to go to really relax, visit the beautiful beaches, try out the local food and become a French person wandering round all their gorgeous towns and villages.

This holiday is always a highlight of my July, every time we go on it, because I just love being able to spend so much time with my family and all enjoy each other’s company. We’re all pretty crazy and opinionated, but we all love each other and support everyone no matter what.

2 Days in Paris- Where we’re staying in France wasn’t too far from Paris, and as I’ve always wanted to go back ever since I visited back in 2015 on a school trip; my mum treated me to two days in Paris. We headed to Rouen in the car, and then took the train to the centre of Paris.

We stayed in a beautiful, small boutique hotel called Hotel Baum, and it was the perfect girly get away. It was only  small double room, as we got it for an amazing price on Secret Escapes, however it was still so beautiful, it looked over the small conservatory of the hotel and was super modern, with plenty of velvet. We spent time having a really good shopping trip, as I had done all the tourist things before, headed down the Champs-Elysées and had dinner sitting on one of the side streets, in a beautiful French restaurant. It had definitely fed my love for Paris even more and I can’t wait to go back again, hopefully with my boyfriend this time.

untitledNights Out- June and July brought a lot of nights out for me, as it was the end of exams, we went out after the leavers ball and it was also one of my best friends boyfriend Adam’s 18th birthday.

I’m not going to lie, I love a good night out and especially when it’s with so many of my favourite people that I know I will have a great time with. We always look after each other, drink we each other, dance our arses off and just have an amazing time. I don’t always drink that much, because who needs to drink to have a good time, but I always come home with more amazing memories and had a great time. Here’s to a lot more nights out in the future!

My New Job- Although July was a month full of fun, drinks and nights out, it was also a big month for me as I was settling into a new job. It’s only a part-time retail job, as I need some way to feed my shopping addiction and pay for my car, however it was still a really big deal for me as I was leaving my previous job and a team of people I absolutely loved. I didn’t have much choice as the store was closing, however I knew I needed a new challenge and something to get my teeth stuck into.

Throughout July I was really just starting to get my feet under the table, get used to how differently the new company I work for do things, and get used to being the new girl again and not knowing everything. Even though I’m still learning new things every day meeting new people I’ve never seen before and still making small mistakes; I’m really loving it and I know that job was meant to be, after 2 months of job hunting.

What have been your highlights of the summer so far?

My Spring Bucket List

At the minute I really just can’t wait for it to be spring, as small glimmers of the new season are starting to appear. The warmer weather, the lighter nights and also everything is starting to look so much more beautiful as it starts to bloom ready for spring. It feels like a fresh start, as a new month rolls around; a chance to go out and have new adventures, make memories and just enjoy those spring days. So, I thought I would share some of the things I really want to do this spring, in a seasonal bucket list.

  1. Make a daisy chain– This was something I always used do as a child, and I really just want to be able to sit down and recreate those childhood memories again. Daisy’s are a real sign of spring and summer, so I have to make at least one daisy chain this year.
  2. Go on a road trip to somewhere new– This spring I really just want to jump on my car, when I’ve passed my test, and just drive and visit somewhere new. Have a day out just exploring a completely new place, make lot’s of amazing road trip memories and have a laugh with my friends.
  3. allef-vinicius-135031Have a picnic– This might be a bit too early to do in Spring, as the weather in the UK is so unpredictable, but I really want to have a good old fashioned picnic. Go to a local park, lay down a picnic blanket and just have fun away from technology.
  4. Go on an evening walk– The lighter nights are one of the things I really love about spring, and so going on an evening walk is the perfect way to enjoy this. Take the dog for a walk, put my phone away and just enjoy spending time with my mum.
  5. Have a Garden Party– This spring I really want to be able to have all my friends round and have a garden party. I love being able to stick some music on, have lots of food and alcohol and just have a great night.
  6. Eat a hot cross bun- I know this seems ridiculous, but when I was a child I always used to have hot cross buns in the spring and near easter, and so this year I really want to do the same again.
  7. Go fruit picking– This might seem a bit random, but this spring I really want to go fruit picking. Whether that’s strawberries, blackberry’s or gooseberries, I’ve just always wanted to go and it looks like it would be super fun to do.
  8. Pass my driving test– This isn’t really the type of thing you put on a bucket list, but this spring I’m determined to pass my driving test and be able to drive myself around. I’ve already had one go at it and I really hope that it’s second time lucky.
  9. Book a new adventure– Whether that’s going to a festival or going holiday, I want to book a new adventure this spring, ready for the summer months. I’m having a super long summer this year, as I finish my a-levels and go to uni, so I want to really make the most of it.

7 Ways to Transition Your Look Into Spring

Ways to transition your look into spring 1Ways to transition your look into spring 3Ways to transition your look into spring 4

Over the last few days spring has slowly started to appear. The weather is getting slightly warmer, it’s not quite at the summer dress stage yet but we’ll have to be patient, march is only a matter of days away and everyone is starting to think about their summer plans. However, one of my favourite things about the winter to spring transition is clothing. You’re finally able to put away those thick winter knits, for something a bit lighter and so much brighter; ready for the warmer months. So, I’m sharing 7 ways that you can transition your winter look into spring.

  1. Play with pattern and colour- Winter is all about those deep colours and textures, however as you move into spring you can experiment a lot more with brighter colours and patterns. I’m in love with this insect pattern sheer shirt, for spring, just because of the mixtures of the bright colours and its not a traditional floral or stripe print.
  2. Lot’s of light layers- Winter is all about one of two really thick layers, but for spring it’s a lot more about a few light layers. Whether it’s a shirt, jumper and then a mac, or a tee shirt and a cami over the top; the key is to look stylish whilst still keeping super warm.
  3. Add a hat- I really love a good hat, and spring is the perfect time to wear them. It’s not too cold and windy, so that it instantly blows off your head, but you can still add something season appropriate to your outfit. Whether it’s a fedora, bobble hat or a baseball cap; spring is the season to add it to your look.
  4. Nude tights are your best friend- Black tights are way too harsh for spring, however it’s still really cold and you need something to keep you warm on those chilly spring mornings. So, a good pair of matte nude tights will be your best friend, because it looks just like your own legs, but super airbrushed and they will go with any seasonal outfit.
  5. Pop a polo neck under your dress- When it’s coming into spring, I’m dreaming of the days when I can just pop a dress on and head out the door. However, it’s not quite warm enough for that yet, but you can still make your summer dresses work in the spring by popping a co-ordinating polo neck underneath. This could be a cream one under a floral shift dress or even a black one under a maxi dress, it’s completely up to you.
  6. Light jackets- A light jacket is one of the best ways off keeping warm during this transition into spring. You can start to stay goodbye to those thick winter coats in favour for something much lighter. My favourite’s have to be a really good mac, they’re super chic and make any outfit look effortlessly stylish, or a leather jacket, as they go with every outfit and you will find yourself wearing it endlessly.
  7. Boots are still a key element of your look- Just because spring is coming doesn’t mean that all the boots in your wardrobe have become redundant, as you can still incorporate them into your spring look. My favourite way to do this is to pair them with dresses or invest in a lighter coloured pair that you can wear all your round.

What do you love about dressing for spring?

6 Special Occasion Buys

There’s nothing quite like a special occasion, where you can get really dressed up and enjoy celebrating a big event with all your friends and family. I love being able to pick the perfect beautiful dress to wear, create a glamourous hair and makeup look and to have a special item in my wardrobe, which will always hold so many amazing memories. Whether it’s a wedding, I have one of my best friend’s next month and I honestly can’t hold in my excitement, or a prom/leaving party; finding the perfect piece to wear is always a priority and one of the key parts of the day. So, in collaboration with the gorgeous dress company, I’m sharing 6 of my favourite special occasion buys with you all. You may be looking for bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses or even communion dresses, but I’m sure you will find a beautiful piece to wear for any special occasion you have coming up this year.

Blush Tuelle Short Dress | Navy Floor Length Dress | Scalloped V-Neck Dress | Red Beaded Long Dress | Coral Chiffon Cocktail Dress | Red Sequin Lace Dress

If you’re looking for a beautiful dress to wear to your prom or leaving ball, then this gorgeous, red beaded filigree dress would be my perfect choice. I just love the mixture of the long sleeves and how it’s floor length, which adds a sense of elegance to the dress, but mixed with the really sexy deep red colour, and sequined filigree, the whole piece is super glamourous and feminine. It also has an open section at the back, which contrasts with the design of the rest of the garment, and makes it really young and playful. The sequined filigree design transforms the dress into a statement piece and I just love how amazing it would look paired with some killer nude accessories and a gorgeous messy chignon.

However, if your looking for a piece that’s more wedding guest appropriate, then this white, scalloped V-Neck dress would be a lovely choice. I’m obsessed with anything scalloped and when I saw how it had been incorporated into this deep v neck design, I instantly fell in love. It’s a really playful, feminine and also super flattering A-Line style and would be both day and evening appropriate. I also love how the beading on the chest adds intricacy and depth to the piece; making it super special and extremely wedding appropriate.

So, no matter what the occasion and whether you’re in need of a wedding dress, dresses for weddings to wear as a guest, bridesmaid dresses for 2017 or even an American style Homecoming dress; you can find lots of beautiful options, all under one roof, over on

My Favourite Moments of 2016

My Best Moments of2016

Well 2016, what a year it was. It really was an absolutely crazy year full of so many new adventures, amazing moments and memories that I will always treasure. I lived the last years of my childhood and started my life as an adult, I had some amazing AS results that I was really proud of and also kicked off my dream to travel the world, by visiting the one and only New York city. It has to be one of the fastest year’s yet, it really has just flown by, but it really was amazing and I’ll treasure so many moments of it.

This Blog- Blogging is always a highlight to every year of my life that goes by. I’m so proud to say that I’ve run this little place on the internet for another year and have been able to continue to share my love for fashion and affordable style, through this little place on the internet. However, this year has to be extra special, as I finally took the plunge to get my own domain name and invest in a blog design that I’ve always dreamt of. I wrote a post all about it, which you can go and have a read of HERE.

Having my own domain name has opened so many doors, when it comes to how my blog looks visually, but also creatively and through the content I produce and the brands that I work with. It’s pushed me to create content I love, look beyond the stereotypical blogging box and try to run this blog by my own rules. All I can say is that I’ve really fallen back in love with blogging as 2016 drew to a close, and I can’t wait to see what it brings in 2017.

AS Results- 2016 marked the second year that I had to go through the awful experience of results day. It’s not because I’ve had bad experiences at them or got bad grades, but I just hate all the anticipation behind it and the seeing so many unhappy faces, as you look around the room. However, all my anticipation wasn’t necessary as all my hard work and revision paid off, and I got results I’m still really proud of; 2 A’s and 2 C’s. I never thought I would get an A in anything at A-Level, and to get in design, which is the career I want to go into, made it even better. It really gave me the push to work super hard to finish my A-Levels and apply to uni.

Travel- I’ve always wanted to travel around the world. I really want to see everything it has to offer; experience different cities, cultures and ultimately be able to have memories that I can treasure for a lifetime. So, 2016 was the year that my adventure’s began and I finally got to travel outside of the EU, all the way to New York City. The trip was to celebrate my 18th birthday and it has to be one of the most amazing holiday’s I’ve ever been on. It’s such a bustling city, constantly full of noise, and there’s something to do every where you turn. It really is like no other place I’ve ever been to and you can read all about my trip HERE.

Turning 18- October 2016 marked the final year of my childhood and my transition into adulthood. I can’t believe that I’m now officially an adult, and I’m able to buy alcohol, go out partying and just finally not be considered as a child. It’s weird knowing that I’m now responsible for myself, and I can’t get my mum to ring up and book my appointments, even though I still do, but it’s so good to have more freedom and to not have any restrictions. Now all I need to do is pass my driving test, and I’ll finally be able to drive myself around in 2017, and there will be no more need for my mum’s personal taxi service.

2016 has been a great year for meeting new people and also making all my friendships even stronger. I’ve spent time with both of my two friendship groups, from my old high school and the one from my new college, and have so many amazing memories with both of them. We’ve been to parties, had sleep over’s, girl’s nights and had so many laughs. I’ve also met another really amazing friend at work, that I know will always be in my life and I’m sure one day we will both be old and grey together. I’ve loved getting to know her little girl and I can’t wait to see her grow and develop in life.

I honestly don’t know what I do without them all by my side and I know I have found friends for life, who put up with all my drama’s, ranting and endless obsession with clothes and makeup palette’s. So, thank you Sasha, Holly, Lauren, Beth and Eleanor, for being the most amazing best friends.

I hope you’ve all had an amazing new year and here’s to an amazing 2017.
