This round of The Best Of We Heart It posts are inspired by a visit to Paris, memories of my childhood, and a love for beautiful pictures.
Okay, I’m just going to put it out there, October was definitely the shining star in a very dark sky of a year so far. It brought so many amazing experiences and moments for me, that seemed like I had been waiting a life time for. There was no particular reason that everything seemed to come at once, but I suppose that’s just life, you go from having nothing to do, to having everything come all at once.
The first amazing thing that happened throughout October, by far, had to be my birthday party. I had been planning and wanting a party for my 16th for over a year, and because of family circumstances I nearly thought that I wouldn’t be able to have one. However, life was kind to me and really sorted itself out, and I hosted the most fun and needed party EVER! My whole aim for the party was really to just make sure everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time, which I really hope everyone did. But the main thing was, that I absolutely loved just spending time with all my friends and dancing the night away. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever danced so much in my life.
The second thing that happened throughout October had to be my school trip to Paris. It had been planned and booked for over a year, and the excitement and anticipation was way to much to even think about a couple of months ago. However, it soon came around, and it was one of the best experience’s of my life. I wasn’t just about where we visited and what we did, although that was good too, but it was really about the amazing people that went on the trip, and how many more of them I can now call my friends. It was just one of those trips I will never ever forget, but I’m so glad that I won’t.
How was your October, did you make any new life long memories?
My Absolute Favourite
Overall, I think that My favourite has to be the picture that is a view of Paris through a love heart shaped hole cut in a bush. It just reminds me so much of my trip, and even looking at the Eiffel tower now, I can not believe that I went right to the top of it and kind of conquered my fear of lifts.
I also love how this picture really represents how Paris is the city of love, hence the love heart shape, and to be honest, I would love to go back there when I’m older with my boyfriend/partner/husband because it is such a magical and romantic city. I suppose you could say that it definitely lives up to it’s name.
I hope that you have enjoyed part 1 of October’s The Best Of We Heart It. You can go and have a read of the rest of the series HERE. Also I’m sorry that it’s so late into November, but it’s better late than never, right?
From Left to Right: Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo, Pink Tangle Teezer, Toni&Guy Sea Salt Texturing Spray, Schwarzkopf got2b Styling oil, Hair Elastic Bands/Primark
Unfortunately, Bed Head Hair is just something that we all have to face every morning. It’s not a case of the fact that only a few people suffer with it, it’s just one of those annoying things that happens in life. However, if your one of those people who doesn’t care about what people think and just really embraces the messy lock’s, then I definitely applaud you, because I would never dare do anything like that. But some people just do suit the messy, just got out of bed look.
Even though over the last few years, messy hair and the “beachy” look has definitely become something that we all want to achieve, I still don’t think we’ve gone as far as to literally just embrace complete bed hair. Obviously some people’s bed hair is worse than other’s, it really depends on the length of your hair and ultimately what type of hair you have. However, we all don’t exactly adore the way our hair looks when we get up, and that’s why, along with Casper, I’m taking part in the “Own your bed head” project. To inspire and share tips on how to embrace your messy, bed head locks this Autumn/winter.
So, If your wondering what the brand Casper is all about, then let me rewind a little bit and tell you a bit about the brand. Firstly, It’s a luxury mattress brand, that is both proudly produced and made in America. They create the most amazingly comfortable mattresses, that will give you the best night’s sleep you will ever have, By uniting a top comfort layer of premium latex with a support layer of high-density memory foam. They have created a sleep surface that lovingly contours, while retaining a healthy bounce and cool temperature.

My Bed Head hair is not really anything to shout home about. It’s not really super voluminous, although I would love it to be, and it’s definitely not out of control. However, it can start to get a bit unruly at times. I’m not saying that I don’t get bed hair, because I certainly do, but it’s more managed and masked by these few vital, life-saving tips and products that I could never live without.
Put long hair up into a plait at night, to prevent it soaking up any excess sweat and oil , and to just get it out of the way. Use small elastic bands to secure the plait, to ensure it stays in the hair all night and keeps everything in place while your sleeping.
ALWAYS use dry shampoo. It’s an absolute life saver.
Embrace the messy look, and just make that the look that you were going for. Use a salt spray to really enhance the whole effect.
There’s also many other products that I love to use to tame my messy locks every morning, which you can see listed above. A pink tangle teezer, which every girl needs to have in their lives, some styling oil, which is great for nourishing and smoothing the hair down, and of course dry shampoo, which I just could not live without. I really love this one from Aussie, it’s almost completely invisible and creates the gorgeous feeling of freshly washed hair.
I hope that with these few tips and a handful of products, you will now feel confident to really rock your bed head hair, and completely own it. Thank you to Casper for asking me to take part in the project, and if you would like to find out any more about the brand, then click HERE.
As I’m sure you all know, I’m a massive fan of Nail polish. I just seem to love everything about it, from all the different colour choices, all the different varieties, and mainly just how it can really transform your nails and create a whole new aspect to an outfit. So when I was recently contacted by luxury nail polish and beauty brand Julep, regarding their new nail polish range and their unique nail infographic, I bit at the chance to get a look at the new range and to know how to transition my nail loves from the warmer months to the colder months.
So, you’re all probably wondering what this brand is all about. Well, Julep is a luxury nail polish and beauty brand that aims to break all the rules of beauty. Since it was founded as a nail parlor in 2007, Julep has expanded into a rapidly-growing beauty brand that takes an end-to-end approach to product development, testing, and distribution. As they’ve evolved, connection to their customers has remained core to their approach. That’s why they source high-quality ingredients that actually work, and never make anything they wouldn’t use themselves—or recommend for their moms, daughters, and best friends.

The brand asked me if I would create a look all based around one of their nail polish colours, which being a fashion blogger and all that, I was obviously more than capable of doing. So, as it’s finally coming to the time that the temperatures are getting colder and everyone is getting into the Christmas mood, I thought that I would base my look around a warm and festive Autumn Party.
Ariana/Julep, Black Sequined Dress/Topshop, Purple Patterned Kimono/ASOS, Purple Platform High Heels/New Look, Purple Crystal Earrings/Pandora
Firstly, I chose this gorgeous mulberry coloured nail polish, with a hint of good old sparkle from Julep, to base my whole look around. I’m really loving purple at the moment, I think it’s the real depth and wintery feel that the colour has. It’s a great colour not only for your nails, but for all the accent colours in an outfit.
Secondly, I decided to choose this stunning, black sequined party dress from Topshop. It’s a lovely pick for any autumn party, and is something that will complement Ariana nail polish perfectly. I love how it would really hug a womanly figure, and add a bit of sparkle and elegance to any party look.
Finally, I chose all the purple accessories to go along with both the sparkly nail polish and dress. I chose this unique kimono from ASOS to add a bit of pattern and texture to the outfit, along with these purple shoes and these earrings to flow the colour of the nail polish through the whole outfit, and pick out the gorgeous colour that would be painted on the nails.
In addition to wanting me to create a look all based around one of their luxury nail polishes, they also sent me a unique nail transition infographic to share with you all. It’s a great little guide on how to transition your favourite nail looks from summer to autumn, with various nail colours that you could of possibly loved during summer, and which colours are best to go for in autumn and winter. You can go and have a read of it in the link below:
I really love this whole infographic and I hope you all do too. It’s a great little guide that will really suit every nail polish lover out there. If you would like to know more about Julep, then click HERE.
There’s so many reasons that Autumn is my favourite season of the whole year. I don’t whether it’s just because I’m an Autumn baby, and Autumn brings so many celebrations for me, or whether it’s just something that I’ve developed over the years. However, I’m not really that much of a summer person. I’m not saying that I hate everything about the season, but I don’t like being over hot, and having to dig out all your summer clothes to find something that is cool enough to wear all day. It’s just not really my thing, but everything about Autumn obviously is.

The one main thing that I love about Autumn, has to be the atmosphere. I just love everything that you do at this time of the year: from snuggling up in hundreds of blankets to keep warm, lighting lots of candles and watching them slowly flicker, or just the hot chocolate’s and hot food that we all love to eat to fill us up for the chilly day ahead. It’s just something that is so iconic of Autumn, and because it’s in between Summer and Winter, everyone seems quite happy to embrace the jumpers, coats, scarves, and all the layering. Which is also one of my favourite parts.
Being a fashion lover, the whole style and trends side of Autumn is super important to me. No one wants to look like an absolute autumn wreck, because they’ve got a cold, and they’re having to wear thousands of layers to keep warm. We all just want to embrace the fact of the temperature’s getting cooler, and look chic even though it’s freezing. That’s why I love to layer by wearing shirts under jumpers and have the collar just poking through, and coats on top of jumpers to snuggle it up a bit. Then add some cute wintry accessories, like scarves, gloves and maybe even a cheeky floppy hat or two.
Let’s face it, Autumn is Amazing and we all need to embrace everything it has to offer. Even if your a lover of the warmer months, you just need to light a few candles, switch on your fairy lights and sit down to a good old book, and I’m sure you will fall head over heels in love with it.
Camden Market was one of the few places that I had never visited, that yet really screamed out “Me”. It’s always been one of those places that I’ve wanted to visit for so many years now, but living so far away from London, I’ve never really had the chance. Although I would love to live and work in London, unfortunately I’m still a bit too young yet to pack my bags and head for the big city.
Obviously, although I had always longed to roam the unique streets of Camden, I had never actually been there before; and it was a bit of jump into the dark when i suggested to my Aunty and Mum that we should go and check it out for ourselves. However much you research a place or see pictures’s, you never get to know the vibe of the place or what it’s really like. Camden is definitely a place that you need to just go to and visit, because honestly it is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. It’s just so much different to the traditional side of London that we all know. There’s no busy businessmen or commuters barging past you with their briefcases running to the next meeting, or hardly any really typical tourists that are wanting to buy all the London crap and souvenirs, or taking photo after photo. But to be honest, I’ll take that one back; because I wasn’t shy with my camera that day.
Although I expected it to be a really unique and urban place, you always have a vision of how somewhere is going to be, and although my original idea of Camden was ever so slightly off, looks-wise, it blew me away more than you could ever know; and I still can’t believe that i had never set foot there before Saturday.
Camden is just one of those places where everyone is so laid back, and people just casually wonder around without a care in the world. Unlike many places in the capital, it has a real feel of community and soul, every person that had a market stall, or owned a cute shop or boutique along the main high-street in Camden, just seemed to be so passionate about what they had made or what they did as a career. So many of the people where really genuine and down to earth, which creates a great atmosphere to just casually ponder around in and have a good old chat while you shop. I think that it’s one of those places that you would love to be a part of, whether that’s through being a resident there or a business owner. There’s just something about Camden, that has really strengthen my love for our capital city.
Camden Market is just somewhere that is so different, unique, and urban, and is definitely somewhere that you need to go and have a ponder around the next time that you’re in London. But i know that it’s not always that easy.
