A Chic New Years Eve Outfit

IMG_3136IMG_3140

Getting dressed up is one of my favourite things to do, and especially when it’s an outfit that I love. You don’t really get the chance to do it every day, as you’re heading to uni or work, so it’s so nice to spend the time to do your hair and makeup and choose a great outfit to live the night in. New Years Eve is always a special occasion for me and means a lot, so this outfit will have some many memories for me from an amazing night with family, friends and my boyfriend.

IMG_3139The main piece of my outfit was this gorgeous blush pink blazer from LKBennett, and was also such a bargain. It was such a great buy from Biscester Outlet village, and was supposed to be orginally around £348, and I got it for only £83. I couldn’t believe the price tag when i first saw it on the rail, and as soon as i tried it on i fell in love with it. Not only is the colour so gorgeous, it also fits like a glove and looks so classic. It looks elegant and chic, but still has a young, feminine twist, which i know will never go out of style. It’s a piece ill be able to keep in my wardrobe for years and something i know I’ll love forever.

So to make the most of this gorgeous piece, I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit fairley simple and put together, to draw the look into one. To do this, I paired the blazer with my favourite black lace cami from new look. I love how chic and femine this looks, and it contrasts the hard tailoring of the blazer perfectly. It’s also so comfortable and such a staple in my wardrobe. I just wish they brought them out again, as i’ve wanted more ever since, and really fancy a grey, mink or blush pink one.

Then, to finish the look off I paired it with a pair of grey, faux leather trousers. They might look a bit weird, but they add so much class to an outfit and a bit of luxury, as it’s not the traditional denim jeans. As well as the trousers, I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to my outfit, and so i added thsi goregous opal necklace, that i bought from a small independant jewellery stall a few years ago. I dont get that much chance to wear it, but it looked perfect with this outfit and the pink of the blazer picked up the pink of the opal perfectly.

What did you wear this New Years Eve?

My Goals & Resolutions For 2018

IMG_1212

Well 2017 what a year it was, and its going to take a seriously good 2018 to top it. So, as it’s a fresh year and a brand new chapter in our lives I thought i would share some of my goals and resultions for the year ahead..

Resolutions:

  • Get Back Into Blogging – It’s something ive been doing for nearly 6 years now and recently ive really let it go. I suppose I lost my sparkle with blogging a bit and did’nt really feel inspired. However, 2018 is a chance to throw myself back into blogging and create a little space online i can be proud of.
  • Take More Time For Myself – In 2018 I want to make a real effort to take time out and just have time dedicated to myself. Whether that’s just a running a bath in the evening, delving into a new book or just sitting down to watch my favourite programme.
  • Get Out Of Old Habits – Two of my biggest habits in life are bitting my nails and being late. So, in 2018 i want to make a real effort to get to that lecture on time, not be late for work and also to have beautiful, long, natural nails.
  • Live Everyday Like Its Your Last  – I should know that life is short and you should enjoy every minute of it, having lost someone so close to me. However, i do sometimes forget it and get caught up on having a bad day or having a deadline looming over me. So, in 2018 i want to be enjoy every momengt of life and make everyday special.
  • Be Productive – I want 2018 to be the year where i do so many things and really focus on getting things done. Do that assignment, write that blog post, save that money, because i know i will thank myself later.

When it comes to my goals for 2018, i want to carry on suceeding, working hard and enjoying every part of life, as well as learn some new things a long the way. So, I have four goals i want to achieve during the next year…

1. Learn how to cook- Cooking is far from my strong point and athough i love eating amazing food, my ability to actually cook is it pretty awful. So, this year hopefully with the help of my boyfriend, who’s really good at cooking, i can learn how to mak a few simple things for myself and get more confident at cooking.

2. Get a first in my first year of uni- I’ve always been an ambitious person and always want to be the best at what i do. So, i want to carry on doing really well at uni and finish with a first in my first year.

3. Make so many memories- A want 2018 to be full of memories, that I can always remember. Whether that’s with friends, family, my boyfried or oportunities i have over the next year.

4. Get some experience- In 2018 i want to use the time i have off from uni to really get some experience in fashion buying and merchandising and build my CV. So i can go into my second year with at leat 2/3 amazing experiences and valuable insights into the industry to learn from.

What are your resoultions for the year ahead?

Get Ready With Me | My 19th Birthday

A birthday is always an excuse for me to get dressed up and enjoy being a bit more glamourous than I am everyday; and my 19th birthday was no exception. After such an amazing 18th year, I knew I had to go into my 19th with a bit of a bang, no way as big as last years, but a good celebration was in order. So, to make sure the night kicked off in the right way, I made sure I had an outfit on that I loved and felt really good in, as well as pulling it all together with hair and makeup that had a kind of everyday glam vibe. I was so happy the outfit as a whole I thought I would share it in a blog post with you all….

The Outfit

When it comes to going out, I’m a massive fan of having that one key item that you can put on and feel instantly put togther and ready for the evening. Whether that’s a dress playsuit or a jumpsuit, a love a good one hit wonder I suppose; except I love to wear them over and over again and they’re my trusty go-to pieces. So, when it came to choosing an outfit for my birthday drinks in my local city, it was a no brainer that I wanted to pick one of these items from my wardrobe. So, this red, lace dress from AX Paris ended up being the dress of choice for the evening, purely becaause I feel really good when I wear it, it looks good and I could also pair it with a good old red lip.

To finish the look off, I wanted to make the dress the main focus point and so I stuck to a more neutral colour palette. I went for a beautiful pair of patent nude high heels, with a good platform to add a bit of height to the evening. These are far from the most comfortable heels I own, but they look amazing on, and so that balanced out the pain they cause. Then I added my trusty rose gold Pandora rings, and my Armani exchange watch and a black and white clutch to tie it all together. To be honest the bag wasn’t my first choice, but I couldn’t find the bag I really wanted to use so I had to make so with this one.

Hair & Makeup

For my hair and makeup I went for a more everyday glam look, as I wanted to still look natural with a bit more of a dressed up version. So I created a gorgeous brown smoky eye to add a bit of depth to my makeup look and a bit of intensity to the eye, using the Morphe 35T palette. This is actually one of the loves of my life and would really recommend buying it because it`s so versatile, and it also helps that it looks beautiful as well. To complement the eye look I went for bronzed, dewy skin and a good old matte red lip. I wasn’t the most popular with my boyfriend, but it tied the whole look together. When it came to my hair, I went for my trusty loose curls but added lots of extra volume, to the roots, to add bit of extra glam to the whole look. This just brought it all together and made me love my hair for the whole night.

The Night

I headed to a few local bars in my local city for drinks and a cocktail or two, with my boyfriend and 6 of my best friends. I had an amazing night chatting, drinking and catching up with them all, especially as three of them are at uni away from home and I don’t get to see them that much. To be honest it was quite a messy night, as I made the mistake of mixing too many drink combinations. However, I was the birthday girl and so I had a good excuse to get drunk.

18 Moments in My 18th Year

Untitled design

As I celebrated my 19th birthday a few weeks ago, I thought I would celebrate it by looking back at 18 of my favourite moments from my 18th year; and well what anamazing year it’s been. From buying my first car, going on a birthday trip of a lifetime, organising our 6th form leavers ball and meeting my boyfriend; it’s safe to say this year has been far from boring….

1. Turning 18 and my birthday party – This was a massive event just on it’s own, as I celebrated saying goodbye to childhood and moving into my first year of adulthood. I celebrated it in style with an amazing party, plenty of prosecco and so many amazing people around me.

2. New York- There’s not enough ways to describe how amazing this trip was; it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. I loved every second of exploring the city and the jam packed days we spent in the big apple. It has to be my favourite city in the world so far, and I cant wait to go back again.

3. Buying my 1st car- My 18th year saw me make the biggest purchase of my life so far, as before that all I had ever spent was a few hundred on a good designer handbag, and buy my first car. It’s a little Citroen C1, is metallic green and is my absolute pride and joy. I love her and don’t know what I would do without her.

4. Passing my driving test– Not too soon after buying my car, and after a hell of a lot of practice and lessons, I passed my driving test second time. Learning to drive was a true labour of love for me, but one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life so far. I love driving and the freedom I get from it, so I’m so glad I persevered and didn’t give up hope.

5. A hen do and a wedding- One of my best friends Sasha had an amazing hen do and got married earlier this year. It was such a magical day,she looked so beautiful and I’m so happy for her and her husband in their new journey as mr and mrs.

6. Lots more 18th’s– One of my favourite moments of this last year has to be celebrating all of my friends turn 18 and helping them enjoy their special birthday. I’ve had some amazing parties, celebrations and drunk nights to remember from this year!

7. Nights out– Following on from all the 18th celebrations, there has been many nights out over the last year;as I’ve visited mosh a few times, had quite a few taxi’s home and wanted a kebab after every night has ended. Let’s say I’ve had some eventful nights out that I wont ever forget!

8. Ed Sheeran Concert- Around March/April time I got the chance to go to a sold out Ed Sheeran concert, after a last minute chance to get tickets, and it was by far the best concert I’ve ever been to. Not only do I just love his music, but his ability to be able to entertain a massive audience completely by himself, just amazes me.

9. This blog turned 5– April marked half a century of blogging for me, and its been a bit of a whirlwind ever since, as I’ve worked with numerous companies throughout the year on some really interesting content. I’m hoping to get back into blogging now and focus on working with more brands to create some amazing content for you all.

10. Getting a new job– If A-levels, uni applications and life wasn’t enough, I also got a new job in June as the place I worked at before was closing down and I needed a new challenge. Even though it was super scary, and not amazing at first. I love it now and am already starting to feel like i’m getting a new work family.

11. Making a mastectomy bra- As breast cancer is so close to my heart, after watching my mum go through it herself, I knew my a-level product design coursework had to be based around something to do with that. So, one of the biggest moments of the last year was that I managed to make a mastectomy bra for my final piece and create a project I was incredibly proud of.

12. Meeting my boyfriend- This has to be one of the biggest and best parts of my 18th year, and that was meeting my boyfriend. He’s the most loving, caring and considerate guys I’ve ever met, makes me laugh until I cry, is my partner in crime and just an amazing person to be around. It’s been a crazy 3 months with him, but so amazing.

13. Organising the 6th form leavers ball- One of my greatest achievements this year has to be organising the 6th form leavers ball with 3 of my amazing friends. It was a long process, and we seemed to hit every hurdle possible, but it turned out to an amazing night and I loved every second of it.

14. Finishing school- My 18th year marked my final few days in school and sixth form. It was quite an overwhelming experience to think you will never have to go to school ever again or have a set school day, but its an amazing feeling of freedom and the true start to adulthood.

15. Visiting Paris again- July marked our bi-annual family holiday to France, and this time it gave us the opportunity to head to Paris for a little girly get away. It was only short, but sweet and I had an amazing time looking round all the shops and taking in the beautiful sites. Hopefully next time I go will be with my boyfriend, as he’s never been and I would love to show him round the city.

16. A-Level Results- August brought round A-Level results and one of the best days of my year so far. I got 2 A’s and 1 B, which I was so over-whelmingly proud of and will always look back on with pride. Also, that night brought a mass of celebrations from an amazing family meal to a great night out with some of my favourite people.

17. V-Festival– Straight after results day brought my first festival, and one of the best experiences of my life. I went with two of my best friends and had such an amazing time. We laughed, drank, ate, saw so many amazing artists and made some lifelong memories. Camping isn’t really my thing, but I embraced it and loved every second of it. Just maybe not the toilets or being cold in my tent at night.

18. Starting Uni- Finally just before my 19th birthday, I started my next chapter and headed off to uni. Even though I’m living at home and going to a uni in the city near to where I live, it was still a massive deal to me. But, I’m loving every second, making some amazing friends and the course is amazing so far!

I think its safe to say that my 18th year was a pretty busy one packed full of amazing memories, people and moments that I will never forget. So, here’s to the future and having many more amazing experiences….

10 Ways To Transition Your Wardrobe Into Autumn

Photo 06-09-2017, 09 20 20Photo 06-09-2017, 09 21 13Photo 06-09-2017, 09 21 04

1. Add different layers, from a shirt under a jumper or a denim jacket over a dress. The key to dressing ready for the unpredictable autumn months, is having those multiple layers that look super stylish and are also pretty practical as well.

2.Change up your colour palette. Say goodbye to the brights and the pastels, and say hello to the deep purple’s, navy, orange’s and camel’s. Although that blush pink is still in for autumn/winter 2017.

3.Add in another texture, whether that’s through a fur Gillet, a woven scarf or a chunky knitted jumper.

4.Pop on an autumnal nail varnish, I’m absolutely loving burgundy at the minute, or play around with an autumnal eye makeup look.

5.Add a boot to your look. It’s the most classic way to transition your wardrobe into autumn and is one of the best as they go with everything. Shorts and dresses for those warmer autumn days and jeans or tights for the colder days.

6.Go a few shades darker with your jeans. Think dark navy and black, a quick and easy way to transition from summer and into autumn.

7.Change up your accessories, such as saying goodbye to that bright across body bag and hello to that dark bowler bag for this autumn/winter.

8.Why not try a jumper and skirt combo, as the jumper is perfect for those colder autumn days but that skirt still leaves a bit of leg on show and channelling the summer vibes still.

9.It’s all about adding a coat, whether that’s your go to green parka, that boyfriend style coat or just a classic leather jacket.

10.Say hello to hair simplicity. Say goodbye to hair glitter and plaits, and say hello to those natural soft waves under a cute bobble hat.

Are you looking forward to autumn dressing?
