The first half of the year is all about celebrating some of the amazing people in our lives; from Valentines day, which celebrates those amazing boyfriends, partners or husbands, and also Mothers Day, where you delegate one day to your amazing mum and any other lovely women in your life. However, on June the 19th it’s all about the dad’s, grand-dads and uncle’s; as we celebrate Father’s Day in the UK.
Unlike any of the other special days in the calendar, this day is even harder to be prepared for, because you have to find a present for a man who potentially has everything. I personally find men super hard to buy for, as there’s a lot less options to be able to choose from, compared to if you were buying for a woman. Therefore, you have to be super savy and look for some unique presents, which your Dad will love. So, in order to help you out with that mission, I thought I would share 9 fathers day gifts with you all, to give you a few ideas or even just a bit of inspiration, for your gift this fathers day.
My Top 3 Gifts
- French Terry Sweatshirt/Tommy John
This sweatshirt is a great alternative for that boring old shower gel gift set, that you buy your dad every year; as he can still relax and chill out in it, but also look pretty stylish and chic in the process. This is one of the items from Tommy John’s Athleisure range, and is perfect for any dad who loves a good casual sweatshirt. They have taken the traditional leisurewear style and mixed it with their ‘signature eye for design, appetite for innovation and scientific curiosity’, in order to create ‘Flexible, pre-shrunk fabrics with 4-way stretch technology’. It may be slightly out of some of your budget’s, this Fathers day, however it’s a real investment piece and something that your dad will be able to wear in so many different occasions, especially if he’s super active and loves some good workout wear.
2. Overnight Stay On A Canal Boat/ notonthehighstreet.com
This experience, which can be bought form notonthehighstreet.com, has to one of the most unique presents that I’ve ever seen. My dad used to really love narrow boats, and always wanted to go on one and maybe even own is own one day. So, if he ever had the opportunity to have this experience he would have really loved it, and I’m sure your dad would too. Not only do you get to stay in the luxury narrow boat, but it’s also in the heart of East London, and you can soak up the sights of the capital whilst floating in the narrow boat. It is expensive at £160, but I’m sure that it’s based on two people per night, but it would be a great treat for your dad this fathers day.
3. Lush Men’s Gift Set
Generally, Lush is not associated with a place for men, and especially not when you walk by the shop and get a hit of floral scent’s from all the amazing bath bombs and bubble bar’s. However, this year lush have created a fathers day range, and one of the gifts if this amazing men’s set. It includes a deodorant powder, face and body scrub, face and body mask, bath bomb, shaving cream, shampoo bar and shower cream; meaning that your dad will finally be able to understand what all the lush fuss is about. It’s a great luxury gift set to give your dad this fathers day, and something which I’m sure he will enjoy, even if not at first sight.
