When it comes to work, especially because I work in fashion retail, I always want to look my best. Whether that’s making sure I have a really nice outfit on that looks chic, stylish and also well put together, making more of an effort with my makeup and finishing my look off with lipstick, or ensuring my hair looks lovely and doesn’t get in the way, during my shift. I think it’s so important to look super presentable when you’re working in fashion, as you’re not only selling the physical clothes, but an experience and the ability to ask for advice if you need it.

As I’m interested in fashion, clothes and style is super important to me. It’s what I truly enjoy and one of the things that really defines me. So when I go shopping and pick out clothes to buy, I always try to pick things that are a bit different and not what every other person would buy. I like to be a bit individual with the pieces in my wardrobe and not walk down the street and see five other people wearing the same thing as me. These pieces are usually the ones I steer towards when I’m choosing an outfit for work, as I feel like I just have a slightly different feel and touch to my look.

Some of my favourite, slightly unique pieces have come from New Look, River Island and Topshop, however I also really love Zara too. Their very European and chic style really comes through in the clothes they sell. One of my most worn pieces has to be these grey leather look trousers. I’ve loved grey jeans for quite a while now, as I love how they add a bit of a different and more put together feel for denim; and so when I saw these leather look trousers I knew I had to get them. They may not be the most quiet trousers, as they do squeak when I walk, but they look amazing on; especially with a silver necklace and accessories.  I also really love this patterned tapestry style skirt from Topshop. It looks so pretty and femine, but also can add a pop of colour to a plain outfit and is just a really unique piece in my wardrobe. In addition, my opal ring is also a piece a adore, because of it being my birthstone and it’s set in silver.

What do you wear for work? Have I given you any inspiration?
