Fashion February #2

Harem Pants

Hello Lovelies

Welcome to my second post of Fashion February.

If you don’t have a clue what I am going on about, then, you need to get yourself up to speed and read my first fashion February post HERE.

This week’s Fashion February is all based around Harem Pants, although I doubt I really need to tell you that because you’ve probably already figured that out. Unlike my first post, this post is not sponsored by anyone, so I can be a lot more open with my opinions and how I really feel about the item at hand. Which is great! So now I’m allowed to say whether I like the item or not, how I would style it, where I would purchase it from and anything else that I would personally like to mention.

If your someone who is not very fashion forward, or just does not have a clue what Harem pants are, then to be honest I’m not surprised. They sound like the most terrifying piece of clothing I’ve ever known, and the thought of an item’s name that ends in “pants” just makes it worse. So to put all your nightmares to bed, I will explain to you all what these terrifying, sounding items are.

Harem Pants are basically trousers that have an elasticated waist band, usually they also have elastic around the ankles too. They’re usually made out of a floaty material that is very loose fitting and soft. But, if my attempt to explain it to you all,is just too dreadful, then I will also tell you the “official” definition, according to Wikipedia.

Official Definition

Harem pants or harem trousers are baggy, long pants tapered at the ankle, with side flaps on the hip that button at the waist area. Harem pants, which originated in India, are like a cross between a skirt and a pair of skinny jeans.

To be honest I’ve never been a massive fan of Harem pants, and I don’t think I ever will be. It’s just the wear-ability and look of them that I’m not particularly in love with. They are great for the summer and for people in India, but I’m not sure if I could really make them work. But I’m open for suggestions and since i’ve been working on this post and looking for the best to show you all, they’ve began to grow on me a bit more, so maybe I’ll change my opinion of them one day.

When I’ve been searching for these weird and wonderful items of clothing on the internet, I’ve realised that actually they are also the hardest item of clothing to find, mainly because there is hardly any in the shops and because most of them are just disgusting. So, my job has just been made so much harder, because I’ve got to really search for some that I think are respectable enough to actually be posted on my here and are actually on trend and something you would want to wear.

So with a bit of blood, sweat and tears, I’ve hand picked the best harem pants on the market right now, for you all to have a good look at.

Metallic jersey harem pants:NET-A-PORTER, Faux Leather-Trimmed Harem Pants- Forever 21, Sage Dogtooth Relaxed Hareem Trouser & Lily Multi Print Casual Harem Trousers-, Modernist Striped Harem Pants-Forever 21

I know that not all of these are in your budget, but I just wanted to show you what is on the market at the moment. I hope you don’t mind. Even if you don’t buy them, you can still almost window shop but online and see what’s in the shops and what’s available for you all to buy.

So the only thing remaining on my little to-do list of this post, is to say how I would style the item up and how it would look in an outfit. This is my favourite part, so I’m quite excited to just really get stuck into it and create a great look for you all to feel inspired by. So without further ado, here is my styled outfits:

Love you all
